  1. Just to update the thread for future users it ended up being the front differential!
  2. Not sure if they did or did not, but the noise pre-ceeded the brake service job, so I can rule out that. Plus from what I gather a ball joint noise would like be over bumps and such, this noise seems like it is rotating. After going down a rabbit hole of YouTube noise videos I'm inclined to believe it could have something to do with the U joints or the carrier bearing bushing or something like that because as I said it sounds like rotational noise and also has a rubber scraping/rubbing sound to it. Was going to check the play today but it's been pouring all day so I gotta wait.
  3. Would love to stay on topic but this is just perfectly executed... well done! haha
  4. Hey all, had to join this forum to post this question as although I've ended up on here a few times through google, I haven't been able to find anything that seems to be the same thing I'm experiencing. 2008 Ford Edge LTD is making noise from the front passenger area (think it's about right where the passengers feet would be). It happens more under low speeds, when not under acceleration, happens more when you turn to the left, not really at all when you turn to the right, pretty severe after it's been sitting, way less pronounced after driving 20-30mins on the highway. Changed the brakes and still making the noise. Sounds almost like rubber rubbing vs a harsh metal grinding noise though, kinda groan-y. Tire and rotors have no visible wear marks anywhere. Local mechanic said he couldn't find it the first time, but brought it back in and now he's saying he thinks it could be the front differential... He already said it was the brakes and changed those and it didn't do anything so I'm hoping someone here more versed in this stuff might see something that could help me out. I don't know cars but I know Honda CB750s if anyone needs any advice there! Adding a link to a video of the sound at low speed, just kind of creeping forward in traffic. https://drive.google.com/file/d/125opHrBpXbI47c2R4o8AR0rz0rFzzmHW/view?usp=share_link
