We all suspected this since early last year. It sure took them long enough.

Does this mean that the APIM has to be replaced? I know the APIM cannot be replaced under warranty without approval from Ford as a way of managing warranty cost?

I have never used premium gas in my vehicles because I saw no real need. I tried it in my 24 Nautilus and did not see much difference. I do not tow or drive under heavy load in hot weather.
BTW, I do use premium fuel in my outdoor power equipment since ethanol free is only available in premium grade.
Some have continued to promote using it and saw a new argument that goes like this.
The 2L in my Nautilus has 2 injectors (one rail, one direct) per cylinder. One downside to direct injection is supposed to be more valve build up since the spray goes over the valve.. As told, at low power situations, the engine uses the rail injectors and under higher load it switches to direct. The claim is that premium fuel allows the engine to use the upper rail injectors longer before switching to the direct injectors. Therefore, valve buildup is reduced. Of course, no claims on how much.
Can someone confirm how the rail and direct injectors actually work?

It seems every recall had the do not deliver or demonstrate statement. No wonder dealers ignore them,

One thought is to go to a dealer and do it on a demo car!

As you said this may an intermediate method to reset without doing the master. I wonder if this was introduced in a recent update.
-
Haz, I saw this today. Is the "hard reset" what we called the "reboot" where you push and hold the knob about 10 seconds? The manual discusses reboot and master reset but not hard.

They do have a great coffee machine.

Oh boy..another trip to the dealer although I do not recall experiencing this over the last year and 10K miles.
As long as you can steer and brake, the risk seems always low.

I had this update and I had a missing map today (Lincoln mode) that required a reboot to fix. The phone maps worked.

SSM 25-2185 has an APIM update. Is there a way to know if this version supersedes the version in 25-2157?
I would expect if you go to a dealer and it requires an APIM update it would always be later but then many also have companion GWM and TCU updates/
Update:
Haz did you mean to say this replaced 25-2157 rather than 2175 (transposed)?

This could go one for years. The engineers and testers likely did not consider all the scenarios and maybe the tolerances of the sensors. But I admit I have managed engineering/test teams (so complicit) that had similar challenges. You fix an issue and then discover some scenario not considered. Been there, done that.

Interestingly, this one does not show up on my Nautilus technical bulletin list off Lincoln website. It must be too generic.

This does show up against my hybrid so must be non hybrid models

My comment was why wait until 2Q25 to push out a supposedly major safety issue fix OTA when the fix is available from the dealer now? They tout the OTA method but so far no fixed has been pushed out at the same time when provided to dealers. The only OTA fix I got was back last June for a google update.
I have had all these dealer applied.
24P08 - Driver camera battery drain
24P14 - VDM update for battert drain
24P22B - ABS batterty drain
24B54 - APIM, GWM, TCU software (infotainment and more)
24C24B window force recall
Personally, I rarely use the windows so I will wait until my next visit (maybe late March). My dealer is a good 40 minutes away outside rush hour times so just do not drop by.-

Why not do OTA now and supposedly save warranty costs and customer inconvenience to bring it in? Are they using the tech's as guinea pigs to b sure there are no update issues? Or do dealers want them to come in to upsell other services too>

My phone app reports the fix is available OTA but who knows when they will push out.

I directed messaged you since I like when you start the thread and add supplemental information.

Wow a lot of information. Thanks.

i believe now DCDC only deals with the battery. The powering up of everything is handled by a command from BCM to BCMC that has a relay that likely converts from 12v battery operation to HV battery dc to dc conversion if you push the start button (with or without brake pressed) but still seems to support HV battery is powering vehicle in "ON" (without pressing brake). It stated the DCDC controls voltage from 12v to 15v and my readings support. I cannot believe the system would step up the voltage to 13V from the 12V battery.
I am on a journey.

I have an occassional noise but it sounds more like metal to metal and keep thinking it is corrosion.
I watched the video and mine does not sound like that. I
P.S. I looked at the rotors and they are truly a disc and not the wider dics with that webbing between the outsides.

Safety Recall 25S72 - 2019-2020 Edge/Nautilus + Other Models and Model Years - Update SYNC Software
in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty

I hope all this is a wake up call to Ford (and industry) on improving software quality. Bad software can distract drivers if they try to attempt various actions while driver. It is like an itch you want to scratch.
