I'm not sure if it's accurate, but it has been reported here on other posts that the 20" wheels come included with a "sport tuned" suspension package. this might explain the slightly lowered ride height? later, chris

Sync has to "index" or I guess sortof "learn" all of the music on your ipod before it can be accessed using the voice commands and radio and steering wheel buttons. depending on how many songs you have, this may take a few seconds or a few minutes. if you were trying to select songs that hadn't been indexed yet, this could explain the issue. maybe you just needed to wait for the indexing process to complete. here is an excerpt from www.syncmyride.com "Note: Sync will immediately begin indexing the contents of your media player on the Sync unit. This will enable you to access the contents with your steering wheel and radio control buttons. The indexing process happens quickly, but if you have thousands of songs on your player the process may take several minutes. Sync will begin playing music before it completes indexing the player."

Clayton, Sync works great either with the Nav system or without. I should point out that the whole idea of sync is that you can keep your hands and eyes on the road while driving. Having said that, The ipod or other digital media player will perform all the same functions wether you decide to go with the standard (non-nav) system or the touch screen/nav option. You can verbally tell the sync system to play anything on your ipod by "song title, album, genre, playlist, artist, similar" the sync recognizes those words. It will also autoplay upon plugin if you so desire. If I'm not mistaken you can also use the normal controls on your ipod itself, and you can scroll through music with the "seek" buttons on your radio head unit, much like if you were listening to a conventional CD. While these are all nice options to have, and may be faster than using the voice commands in some cases, again whole idea is to be able to drive without looking away from the road and/or taking your hands off of the wheel. sync is not just about convenience, but more importantly, SAFETY! Snyc will essentially do whatever your bluetooth enabled phone or ipod will do. So the biggest limitation is your phone's or your cell provider's capabilities. check out syncmyride.com to find out which features are available from your cell carrier and your specific phone. I don't know if anybody caught "Autoline Detroit" with John McElroy yesterday Sunday, Sept 24th, 2006. ( http://www.autolinedetroit.tv/autoline/ ) The guest hosts were from Motor Trend and AutoWeek. Neither of them had ANYTHING postive to say about their first impressions of the Edge. Both of them complained that the vehicle was about "1000lbs" too heavy, supposedly weighing in around 4500lbs! Both also literally said, that since the Edge apparently doesn't offer 3rd row seating, that Ford "SHOULDN'T EVEN BOTHER BUILDING IT!" The Motor Trend guy also complained that he didn't like the new transmission because it only offered "Drive" or "Low" ranges. He said that the 3.5L did a decent job of pulling the edge around, but again, that the vehicle is too heavy. I know that these are just two journalists opinions, but lots of prospective buyers read their opinions when making decisions on what to purchase.
