  1. Is that for safety reasons? I do a lot of the cooking too but that is for everyone's safety. There are a couple of things she can really do a great job on but even those I worry she is going to get hurt and somehow she uses every dish, bowl and pot in the house to make even simple dishes.

Yes it is. Having three older sisters I am all too familiar.

If either of your wives get tired of you, you are welcome to come here. :)

  2. I don't get worshiped at home so I'll take what I can get. Funny thing is I got her this hand bag last year from Ferragamo and when she took it out of the closet this weekend she hugged it like a long lost friend....I was jealous.

Our handbag is like a security blanket for us and our away-from-home tool kit. It is also a competition among women to have the best one. But not just one, each one for each season has to be the best one. It's a status symbol. And a sickness.

  3. Here's another site to get your Window Sticker from :http://sites.google..../fordvinlookup/

To know the fabrication/delivery schedule for your Ford, just call 1.800.565.3673 (Ford Customers relationship center) with your VIN and they'll give you the latest status.

When I called them they could not tell me much, it was disappointing. And when the carpet issue held it up they kept that info from me. Ordering was a bad idea, I wound up buying off the lot at another dealer.

  4. Well our little guy just turned a year recently, so needless to say the wife has been feeling a bit run down lately. So I was going to send her and her friend for a couple nights to an all-inclusive place...somewhere warm. But it seems like her friend may only be able to do two nights which didn't seem to make much sense to bother so I might get to go :happy feet: well if I can find a baby sitter. Beyond that I will probably get her a GC to a spa or something so she has something to look forward to every now and then. I refuse to buy her clothes, shoes or jewelry....she is way too picky. I'll go with her to help her pick something and to supervise the CC use but have given up on doing on my own.

Oh by the way just got the keyring. It is OK, has a decent feel to it and from a foot away the laser etching looks good. When you get up close the edges could be cleaner. There are a couple of minor dings things that are slightly off but it was cheap so I don't expect it to be perfect. Besides the keys will likely scratch and ding it up some too. Overall not bad for the money.

I work in a salon/spa and spa days are a huge seller for guys to give their wives/gf's at Christmas. This time of year many places discount their gift cards so you get more for your money. I don't blame you for not buying clothes and shoes, you guys are not very good at that lol. :hysterical:

  5. I picked up the keychain on Ebay but saw it at Amazon too but it was more there.

I'll have to take a look at the vent visors. But other goodies for the car will likely be a remote start, hidden hard drive installation and I think I'll be doing the LED's in the glove box and console.

Found it. Very cool. I found it on Amazon for less than Ebay. Love the sparkles! I will have to put that in my own stocking. Thanks for the info.

  6. I bought the Husky all weather mats for my new 2012 Edge. The passenger side fits great, the drivers side not so great. There are a couple of plastic floor studs / carpet retainers on the floor that hold the Ford carpet in place. If you pull off the carpet the studs stick up into the back of the all weather mat and you have a couple of very annoying bumps there. I ended up leaving the carpet in place and putting the all weather mats on top so the studs / retainers wouldn't be so obvious. I assume that the Ford brand would have been designed for these two studs.

Besides the stud issue, does the drivers side fit pretty well? Or is having it on top of the original mat a problem? I may just go with the weathertechs for her. I need to try to make sure that her car has the studs and not the hook, weathertech has both applications for that car. :banghead:

  7. No troubles when closing manually.

In the vehicle settings, the liftgate is set to enabled. Some have send disabling and then re-enabling fixes certain liftgate issues, but had no effect for me.

I'm at the dealership right now and they seem to be stumped. The technician says he's going to hook up a computer to the vehicle to see if it's a programming issue. I'll post the results.

Where are you standing when you close it? I just bought a 2012 and if I stand off to the side of it, even far away, when I close it it will not close. If I stand directly behind the gate it will close. My 2008 never did that so not sure if the sensors are more sensitive.

  8. We got our vehicle as well. Our experience from a dealership/salesperson view was so different than yours! They bent over backwards to keep us informed every step of the way. We did change dealerships this time however. Our new vehicle is everything we expected with no flaws. Even sync works well (touch wood!), and after reading all the negative comments we were a little apprehensive! Our son-in-law says maybe its a generational thing, we're older so our expectations of "technology" aren't as great as younger people...lol! However, we feel for you, our orders must have been input fairly close, our trade-ins the same age Edge, so our wait and expectation of quality was/is the same. We also said in the midst of all this that we would never order another vehicle, however, upon looking at it, we're very specific in our "don't wants"...ie leather seats, panaramic roof and very specific in our wants. We hope you get the vehicle you want with a better experience. The worst feeling is that you're getting screwed and it sounds like you would be at your original dealer. Good luck! :shift:

Quick update. Thank you Woodie for the info, greatly appreciated and so glad you had a good experience. The dealer ordered me a new one and am told that Ford said it would be built fast. They are also not changing my trade. I told them Monday nite that I am looking around for one. Guess that worked. Don't know, his tone changed a lot Tuesday when I talked to him. My credit card told me that I can reverse the down payment charge any time. Clock does not start ticking on the chargeback until I get a vehicle. Ford's website shows a vehicle at another dealer that I am crazy about, however they do not have it so guessing it is in transit. Wodie, maybe your guy can help with that. :)

  9. The Edge is built in Canada, Canadian Thanksgiving was a month ago and the plant gets one day off. Even the US plants only get two days for Thanksgiving. However it still is unlikely to get a delivery by the end of the year, given that things are a bit backed up due to the carpet shortage.

I guess it shows what that guy knows.
