  1. I'm having a similar problem, I added Nav to my 09 Edge and under the radio menu there is only AM and FM, No sat radio option. I'm thinking its a programming problem. I have looked and looked and I can't find any answers. I even emailed Ford only to have them email me back to ask my VIN number so they could void my warranty. Hopefully someone will post a soloution.
  2. Hey guys, I have looked and looked but I can’t find an answer for my problem, there’s a lot of conflicting information out there. There seem to be a few people on here that sound like they know what they’re talking about. I have a 2009 Ford Edge SEL with Sirius and Sync. I have already replaced my Factory 6 Disc Changer with the new 2009 Sony Navigation system that normally comes in the 2009 Edge Limited. I installed the head unit and I had to wire in a 4 channel amp because the 6 disc changer had it built in and the 2009 Sony navigation unit does not. I also installed a GPS antenna that I found on ebay and that made the GPS work. Everything works the way it should except for a few things that half work. My first Problem 3 buttons on my steering wheel do not work anymore the Sync button, the phone button and the OK button. I read somewhere that I have to replace the steering wheel controls with a different one, but I don’t know if that is correct is the steering wheel control different on the 09 models with navigation then in the 2009 models with the 6 disc changer? The phone button on the Nav system still allows me to use my phone just not the one on the steering wheel and my Ipod and works fine, the mic works fine for phone calls. My other problem is when I push the radio button there is no Sirius on the menu there is only AM and FM, I thought that it may not show up until I lengthened the cable from the Factory Sirius module located in the back with the spare tire. So I got an extension cable and this did not help I still don’t have Sirius on my menu. Could this require programming or maybe I need to call Sirius to activate it before it appears (though I’m pretty sure even if you don’t pay for Sirius you should still be able to get channel 184 the weather channel). If anyone knows where I can find these answers please point me in the right direction, I miss being able to talk to my ipod and it sucks to have to pull over every time I need to enter an address apparently if I get those buttons to work I can say the address while i’m driving. Thanks in advance! Matt -Edmonton
  3. Hey guys, I decided to post this solution to a problem I have been having with an after market HID kit I installed on my 2009 Ford Edge with daytime running lights. After I installed the aftermarket HID kit and the H11 relay harness I kept having problems with the daytime running lights and automatic headlights they would not turn on. I was forced to manually turn my lights on and off. I read that the daytime running lights only put 7 volts to the headlights and in my experience this 7 volts was not enough power to trip the relay in the H11 relay harness that turns on the HID ballasts. My solution was to use a second relay that was rated for 6 to 12 volts so that no matter what voltage the headlights were putting out the relay would trip every time and power the ballast, so here is what I did. From the vehicle’s headlight plug (you only need to use one) I installed the 6 – 12 volt relay, because the relay was quite small I didn’t want to over due it so I had the smaller relay activate the larger relay in the H11 wiring harness. Simply put I installed a second relay that would trip the H11 harness relay at a lower voltage, this completely solved my problem. I don’t claim to be any kind of expert I actually install security systems and this relay was one we sometimes use. I looked everywhere for a solution to this problem and kept reading peoples saying that the vehicle wasn’t designed for an aftermarket kit and that it couldn’t be done. It is working perfectly now. I hope this helps someone. Matt Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
