  1. Nope...it is working properly...when you push the button it opens to most of the way. To fully open it you must push the button again. When closing you push the button and it closes to what they call the "comfort position", which is as you describe about 8 from closed. To fully close you must push and hold the button. All is well...this is all in the owners manual. W.
  2. If you ever have a trooper come up from behind running "rolling radar" you'll appreciate the rear warning. Also knowing which direction a signal is coming from helps for many different situations.
  3. Higher is better...but I like the look (and stability) of the mirror mount and it allows for perfect rear detection. I know most alerts are from the front, but I like to maximize one of the better features of the V1, which is the rear antenna.
  4. Lex... One of the V1's advantages is the rear detection... too high... and you limit this option! Just below the rear view mirror is the best place for this unit on an Edge...trust me! Talk to me about the Invisicord/Blendmount install...Cary @ Invisicord is a good dude...$15 delivered...not $30!...stands behind his stuff!
  5. All V1's can be upgraded...but it can be expensive
  6. After doing some research it seemed all the serious car people recommended the V1 with the Escort 9500IX and Bel GX-65 right there too. The Escort & Bel are GPS enabled so that could sway some folks, but I liked the features of the V1...The arrows that point to the source and the multiple "bogey" counter which tells you how many signals it's tracking to name a couple. Mine is the new 1.8 with all the snap, crackle and Euro POP I tracked the auctions on eBay for a while before I pulled the trigger and looks like a really clean updated unit with most or all of the accessories were going for a little over $300.
  7. I'll try and get a shot of it...the main difference is the cord goes into the back of the mirror and the compass unit kind of helps it blend in. The Mount and Invisicord install is only few minutes, real simple. I got my V1 off eBay (I use bucks too) for a fairly good savings over buying it directly from Valentine, pristine unit like new, only a month old. BTW...in case you didn't know Valentine sells brand new units for $399 with everything, some are selling on eBay for as much as $500
  8. Lex... I don't have a pic of mine..but the stock photo is pretty much right on...it's not completely hidden, but you need to be really looking to notice. As far as price, you can get the mount from Blendmount off eBay for $69 + $5.55 shipping and order the Invisicord directly from Invisicord.com for $15 delivered. Cheaper than the kit on eBay. Whitey
  9. Thanks Kempie... Got info from local Ford dealer...if you want to connect from mirror plug...use BLUE/ORANGE for power (12V) and BLACK for ground, They are next to each other in the plug. I'm here to tell you folks...INVISICORD.COM...it is the BOMB....along with a BLENDMOUNT.COM bracket....no one can tell you're running a unit...custom! Whitey
  10. Hi, I have a Blendmount unit and "invisicord" connection to put in my 2007 Edge SEL+. (for Valentine V1 install) I will be going into the back of the plug for the self dimming mirror. Has anyone done this on a 2007? I figure the black wire is the ground, but unsure which color is the switched 12V power. I did see it done on a 2008 he used the black for ground and blue/pink for 12v. Any help will be much appreciated. Whitey
  11. Does anyone have a problem with the rubber weatherstrip on the rear doors getting mashed down? I'm talking about the rubber that is attached to the rear door not the body, Both my rear doors have rubber that is mashed "down" about half way back along the top edge of the door. It appears that it is caused by the transition from the flat front side at the top curve heading back along the top edge where it should be "plumped up" up along the top edge of the door. Take a look at your rear doors and see what you've got? There are no leaks so far but it seems like this is not right... I'd hate to get new rubber for both doors only to have it do the same thing with time! Thanks, Whitey 2007 SEL+ AWD
  12. The FORD folks dubbed it the "BAMR"---"Big Ass Moon Roof"---really!, but in all literature it will be known as the "panoramic" roof since the "other" name could raise some eyebrows!! BTW does anybody have any tips on how to adjust the BAMR for tight fitment?? W.
  13. Hello to all, New here and just picked up a sweet 2007 Edge SEL+....a couple of questions...it came with all the options including the Ford headrest DVD's, but I have no instructions for their use. Does anyone have a source for a manual or instructions? Also I believe they can use wireless headphones, is that correct? Finally, I have the Nav system (radio) do the DVD's have the capability of playing sound thru the radio? (FM modulation) if so how do you set it up? Thanks for any help, and Happy Easter! Whitey
