  1. no... 35's are to big... you would totally kill your gear ratios and mpg. Probably be cruising 60 mph at idle... find us some super lite rims or something to reduce unsprung weight/rotating mass... that's what we need... not big ass tires...

maybe soon we'll see what one will do here gutted(interior and other non essentials)with 35" all-terrains

some 3" coilovers and a little massage work on the cv's and ring and pinion!

  2. Maybe on a SUPERDUTY...

Sure you would want to do this on a Fusion chassis?

This is the way the future suv/cuv/light truck chassis are going(no matter how much the old school resists)to keep production costs down, lighter build weight, better cafe average(mpg)for the whole make vehicle lineup(envirostuff).Might as well start figuring out how to race this stuff.

  3. Well, put it this way...

If the Edge and similar drivetrain components sell well, the aftermarket will embrace us more. Final drive ratios would be appreciated for going to larger wheels and tires.

Hopefully I'll be looking into this

  4. Alright, please dont steer this thread into a pissing match. This thread is for the sharing of ideas of what can be done to our cars.

Sorry,The idea of the 35's is for racing, testing and proving of any engineering oversight.since this is the way all vehicles will be manufactured soon.with on frame body mounting and heavy drivetrain being reserved for only commercial purposes,I was not planning on having the lowered impact member even ride above a stock height f-350 4x4 level(quite doable) this vehicle would strictly be a off-road(race)vehicle.As for my daily driver it is a 04 focus svt, so that pretty much puts a stock edge or just about any lincoln bumper at my mid to higher door area.

just trying to see if there is any engineers with confidence out there on this idea
