  1. 07 MKX....boy, i don't know about that. I have used k&n filters in all my mustangs, incl a supercharged saleen, and i never saw the problems u mention. Because i can't see inside my engine, u could have a point. But don't u think k&n has done extensive research to make sure the things u mentioned do not happen. Just an honest opinion..as is yours. I did dyno my saleen mustang after every mod (there were alot), and i did gain 10.5hp with the K&N filtercharger system.

  2. KSN177...i saw your thread and wanted to help. I am the 1 with the 305 size tires. I went with 22" wheels and 305/40-22 tires. I also lowered mine with h&r springs like a couple of the members on here. I love the way it handles and looks. I recommend if you go with 22's, that u get a 35 series tire. My 40 series tire in the rear make an ever so slight rub up against the plastic inner fender liner at 50mph or above on big bumps (railroad tracks etc.) It does no damage, just annoying. I will change to a 35 series when these tires wear out in another 25,000 miles or so. Also...go to this website...1010 tires.com...they have a setup where u can log in your standard edge tire size, and then add 4 other sizes u are thinking of getting...u click on calculate and it will tell u the speed differance, sizes, and warns u if the size u inputed is not recomended. It is an outstanding site. Here are pics of my edge before and after lowering with the springs and then with the 22's added. Hope this all helps........ 1st photo is stock heightpost-650-1193801360_thumb.jpg 2nd photo is after HR springs added post-650-1193801320_thumb.jpg 3rd photo with lowering, and 22" wheels /tirespost-650-1193801392_thumb.jpg.

  3. Jamers1....i went and pulled my front hearests out the 2nd day i had my edge...i could not take it. I went and purchased headrest with dvd players in them. The material was an exact match(charcoal leather and i gained 2 dvd players. I will post a pic in the next thread. Dvd headrests from xovision.com...$150.00 for the pair and i had them hooked up in 1 hr. simple wiring

  4. your wheels look great, what size what brand and size are thry?

Filmoe, my wheels are 22" luciano ($350 ea). And my tires are general uhp's, 305/40-22's.(from the tire rack, $178 ea) The ride is great. The tread is quite deep so u will hear about a 10% increase in road noise. After 2 weeks though, i do not even notice it. I suggest though u go with a 35 instaed of 40 series tire. My rear tires make a very slight rub into the plastic shielding inside the tire well at around 50 mph when hitting a pretty good bump (speed bump, railroad tracks). It does no damage to my edge...it is just annoying. I went with the 40 series because they want another $200 ea for a 35 series tire. I was hoping when i bought them that 40 would be ok. It is, but the rubbing will annoy u so spend the extra dough and get 35 series tires. Hope this helps.
  5. Hey Saleen .

Glad to see your still customizing your Edge.

I think that exhaust will look real sick!!!!

Can't wait to see the result.

Hope all is well and keep on truckin.

Hey whats up NYEdge...good to hear from u......how are things with the buisness...anything breakdown lately(lol)...my pete lost its alternator the other day...but, i got lucky and was able to limp it to the shop. I hope this exhaust goes well....give me a couple weeks and i will update on here. Take care my friend....hope the family is doing great. My 5 yr old girl is growing fast. When we were 5 years old, did we always say "no" to everything. lol take care

  6. I was reading and at first was like... "ehhh, I dunno..."

Then when you said you're gonna have the rear skirt/valence/whatever customized for the exhaust... well, I too am feeling it.

If done well it should be something.

I don't know what all will be involved in this but it has a pile of potential!

I'm looking forward to seeing the end result :shades:

Here's a pic similar to what SALEENS7 was having trouble posting:

    post-1289-1191875961_thumb.jpg

(the diffuser isn't part of the exhaust, fyi)

EDIT: Good Hands beat me to it. And without a diffuser too. I stand humbled ;)

Hey thanx scoopo...i am hoping that if it gets to be some serious work, that the effort will be worth it....but is has got to look like ford did it on the assembly line...or it will look like crap. I hate crap. lol
  7. As long as you understand the tradeoffs and the total cost - go for it.

I just don't understand the fascination with huge wheels and rubber band tires. Seems like a tremendous waste of money.

I know.....it is lots of cash....i guess it just what you like. But i do understand your point to....nfl tickets...oh yeah.
  8. Good hands i was thinking the same thing....but i think i can get those to incorporate into the rear valance/bumper pretty good. I am having a custom aftermarket body installer remove the rear bumper/valance and custom form an exhaust opening. But i am picky at making every thing look like factory, so they will do a good job, they know how i am. I think someone will say on here...why....i will say, because it is different. I am putting another pic on my post of what the rear will hopefully look like.

  9. post-650-1191873386_thumb.jpgOK......i hope this works. I have measeured and measured and this should work. Going to install a saleen center exhaust system onto my edge. I order the exhaust this friday and will let you guys now how it goes. I have yet to see this done on an edge.....so i am giving it a shot. Saleen makes oustanding performance parts, and although they have nothing for the edge, i can customize this too fit. I will do most of this myself and will have to make new hangers but this should sound bad as___ when i finish. Below is the exhaust i am getting. I will have to adjust the mufflers of course and shorten a few tubes....but it will look great......i hope. Wish me luck fellow edgers.post-650-1191873367_thumb.jpg Oh, and the small exhaust outlets you see coming from the mufflers...those are dump valves, few more horses on full throttle and a deeper sound. A saleen invention.

  10. npggirl..thanx for the roses...lol...and you are welcome.....glad good hands and I could help. By the way, another member mentioned the fact about him and i(good hands) paying for your new 20"s and the cost. My 22" wheels did cost more than the factory wheels of course ($380.00 per rim)...but get this..my 22" tires from the tire rack were 7 dollars LESS per tire than the factory 18 continentals from ford, and they trump the continentals in every test by the tire rack. I want pics when you get the setup on..... :yup: As former owner of 2 saleen mustangs, both supercharghed, most aftermarket companies like SALEEN can improve subsantially on every component of a factory vehicle. Bigger, wider tires improve handling. Too big can hurt. 6 and 8 piston brakes (calipers) improve stopping distance dramatically along with performance pads. Exhaust, intakes, suspension and engine pcs....the aftermarket can make your vehicle soooo much better. U will love the 20" setup. Besides, u bought the edge because "you live on the edge"...get even edgier with the 20"s. Why look like every other factory edge on the road...be different...stand out. Keep me updated on the install.

  11. And i concur with good hands also. The eye appeal is well worth the 1 mpg....i drove my edge off the lot and not many people looked. (i was checking to see if people looked as i drove around). Put the new wheels on 3 days later...and people just stared. Have had kids at 18 years old up to 60 year olds wanting to know what it is, they love the wheels and want to know how much horsepower. New wheels seem to make people think you have serious hp under the hood. My factory 18"s..i hated...there was to much gap in the fender wells for me....thats why i lowered it and added new wheels. GET THE BIGGER WHEELS.....U WILL LOVE US ALL LATER FOR THE GOOD ADVICE.:rockon:
