The Lincoln MKx is auto open and close on the roof and shade. I test drove one of those and that was a very nice feature.

I ended up NOT getting the Edge. Read my post "headliner missing on 09 Edge"..

Well I went to take delivery of my new 09 Edge limited about 8Pm last night and was checking everything out before signing the paperwork. I ask the sales guy for the key and started it up and hit the button to open the sunshades to then open the Vista roof and you will not beleive what happened. The headliner started buckling as I was trying to open it up. I stopped and ask the sales guy to get in the vehicle and he told me to keep pressing the open button and it became obvious that the actual headliner pieces where missing from this vehicle, both front and back. So basically just the headliner material was there and no actual headliner!! How crazy is that? I told the guy I DO NOT want this vehicle anymore. I wonder what other parts where missing or taken off the vehicle. Just to clarify, this Edge was a dealer trade that had just arrived a few hours earlier but my question is how could that dealer trade that Edge with parts missing? If the original dealership borrowed those pieces, why didn't they put them back and how could they knowingly trade a vehcile in that condition to another dealer knowing it was already sold to a customer like myself? I also can't believe no one caught this at my dealer either. The head liner was basically just hanging there. I ask the sales guy to go over when it arrived and he said he did, yea right. I guess they where hoping I would sign the deal and then drive off and find the headliner issue after the deal was done. That is HORRIBLE customer service, just horrible. I am so angry about this and at BOTH dealers that I am not sure what I am going to do. I have had GM products for 10 + years and never had anything like this happen. To make things worse, I had dropped my 07 Chevy crew cab truck off at a local wholesale warehouse that bought my vehicle right before I went to the dealer to get the Edge and now its locked up in there until Tuesday am. Looks like me and my wife are sharing her Acadia until then!! Sorry for the rant but it looks like no Edge for me.

Grey, thanks for the info, but I am getting D plan which is much better then X Plan. I have seen the VinCent and wish I could qualify for some more rebates but I don't..

SteveO Yea, I am going with the 66 month flex at 0% so that works out nice for a lower payment on the 1st 36 months and then it goes up some but hoping to get out of it after 3 years anyways.

Lex Talionis, that makes sense then as that was 15 months ago and the rebates have for sure changed since then.. I am getting D-Plan price (about $3400 off MSRP) $500 FMC rebate and 0% for 60 months. I could get 3K more in rebate but the rate goes up to 6.99% and thats too much interest to pay.

Lex Talionis, when did you buy your Ege to get the 1k conquest rebate on your VW?

I have been going hot and cold on getting an Edge for the last week. The dealer finally found my preference in exterior color (Brilliant Silver) and charcoal leather inside so I am supposed to sign the paperwork tomorrow night after work but am still having some doubts. I am getting D plan plus 0% for 60 months so I think I am getting about as good of a deal as I could expect. I am trading in an 07 Chevy truck and went to the dealer to get a new 09 F-150 but the % rate on those was not very good, so I started looking at the Edge. My question is this. Do the 09's have most of the bugs that the 07's had worked out? Mine has the Vista Roof (which I love) and I have read where those have had some issues. Just need some good positive posts from all the Edge owners here to seal the deal for me. LOL Thanks in advance.. Jim K

I am getting ready to sign the paperwork on an 09 Edge limited and have found alot of great stuff here on the forum. I was wondering if anyone had one of the $750 bonus cash coupons they are not going to be using. I signed up for the brochure at Ford.com and those are supposed to come with the coupon but I need it sooner than 2 weeks. I would be willing to pay any overnight shipping fees associated with getting it to me in the next couple of days. Any help would be greatly appreciated. JK PS: I hope this is in the right section.

Man I sure could use that coupon now. I am signing for a new 09 Edge the next couple of days. I wish I would have known about this a few weeks ago..
