I am new here, but I have a 2010 Edge and I just replaced my front struts with Monroe Quikstrut and I, too, have a clunk or a knocking sound. I found out that KYB and Monroe struts, at least with my Quickstuts that the top strut nut or shaft nut can arrive not up to spec torque. Mine was suppose to be 40 ft/lbs. it was not. After I tightened it to the correct torque spec, the knock/clunk went away. If you didn't, make sure all the nuts and bolts were tightened while vehicle was on the ground (knuckle bolts/nuts and the 4 upper mounting nuts). Hope this helps....
