  1. Thanks for the responses. I had to vent my frustration. I had to special order the touch up paint due to it not being in stock, and yes the scratch is at least down to the primer, if not the metal. It's only about two inches long and about as wide as a strand of linguine. The top portion has a chip out of it. I'm hoping the scratchx and the touch up paint will cover it up for the most part. I do not want to even think about the cost of repainting the liftgate! The paint was only $10.00, but will take one week to get in. I purchased some pipe insulation today at Lowes. It's like padding and fits perfectly over the metal horizontal cross bars on the inside of my garage door. Still need to purchase two more pieces for two other cross bars (lower ones.) Anyone parking their Edge in the garage, with the rear end at the door, might want to consider the same. I'll let you all know how the repair goes. Maybe I'll take before and after photos!!!!
  2. We enjoy the power liftgate, but had a recent bad experience. We park our Edge in the garage. I came home from work, in my work car, and must have accidentialy hit the open button on my key. I had to bring my garbage cans in and opened the garage door. When I opened the garage door, my garage door stopped opening a quarter way up. I did not realize that the liftgate was open and wedged against the inside of the garage door. You guessed it, I now have a nice scratch on the bottom portion of the liftgate! I ordered some touchup paint today and hope it does the trick. If not, I will have to drop some serious money to repaint the liftgate after owning my Edge after four months. I know, I'm stupid....and pissed!!!
  3. I totally agree with ebaker21. My wife and I were going between the Edge and RX350 and could not believe the technology loaded in the Edge vs RX350. Both rides were just as smooth and the stock sound systems were comparable. We purchased the Limited with 20 inch wheels and sport tuned suspension as well. In the end, the Edge's technology won!!!
  4. In my buddy's Lexus his visor opener does not work with the car off, so I was hoping the Edge's was the same. When I park our Edge outside I take my opener in the house. With the crime rate in S. Florida, and my luck, I would wake up to find my mountain bike, lawn equipment, and tools stolen. Oh well! Thanks again!
  5. My Edge is garage kept. The rare instances where I park it outside overnight is why I am concerned. If someone breaks into my Edge they can open my garage. I was hoping that the controls would not work with the car off! Thanks for the replies!!!!
  6. Hello all, just wondering if the garage door opener controls on the visor work when the car is shut off. I have an 09 Limited and do not see this information in manual. Would like to know before going through the hassle of programming the controls. Thanks!
  7. Are you sure it wasn't the Mrs. sitting next to you :yup:
  8. FYI - I just purchased an 09 Limited and wanted the Katzkin seat covers to match the sport seats. I later found out from Katzkin that they DO NOT recover leather seats, just the cloth seats with a leather covering. Also, I received a cheaper price from my dealer instead of going directly through a Katzkin dealer, about $200.00 cheaper. I ended up having another aftermarket company redo my leather seats to mirror the Sport seat with some minor changes. We decided to use a leather insert instead of the sueade. What do you think?

  10. Thanks for the response! I have been checking around also and found the Weathertech site is the cheapest. I tried autoanything.com this weekend and even with their 10% off and free shipping it came out to basically the same price as Weathertech. I later found out that the Weathertech floor liners were not valid with the 10% discount, only the free shipping. I will probably order all three (front, rear, and cargo) from Weathertech tomorrow!
  11. Hello all! I read some related topics, but was wondering if anyone has the Weathertech floor liner (front and rear). The majority of the posts I found were for the floor mats and not the liner. We just purchased an 09 Limited in Sterling Grey Metallic and love the new car. Thanks for the responses!!!
