I replaced all 4 rotors and pads front/rear at 50,000. The rears didn't really need pads but I like doing everything at once. Some people on here have had pads replaced at 20,000 and some are at 60,000 + with original pads/rotors. Have them replace the pads/rotors before you buy it. Just another bargaining tool.

I'm sure they do since the parking brake is still integrated. Get the more expensive NAPA dedicated Ford tool, not the universal cheap one.
I was thinking the same thing but saw this DIY;
http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/Ford-Edge-Rear-Brake-Pads-Replacement-Guide/index.html
Looks to be a regular C clamp used on a standard piston. Wasn't sure if someone here had first hand knowledge

I want to perform a brake job on my 2009 Edge (pads & rotors). Anyone know if the rear caliper pistons need that special tool (screw & press in) or is it a standard piston type? Any replacement recommondations for better brake feel (no new braided lines for me) ?

ever think about doing the flat black vinyl wrap that is popular these days instead of painting?
Teaser pic,.. still needs to be put back together and then cleaned up. But there's her new color!

Hey guys:
I'm looking for chrome interior door locks (knobs on the doors) for my 2010 edge. I want to replace the black plastic ones that came with it. Also, the ones on the back doors are too tall and uncomfortable for passengers.
I can't find them anywhere. Any advice/help. Thanks!
I believe the mustang has alot of aftermarket stuff like that. might want to see if theirs would work.

Nope, np problems. It will be interesting to see if Ford sends it back to your dealership for the final repair attempt - assuming it goes that far.
Go to a new dealer

Due to an error on my part, I have ruined the black exterior plastic on the bottom of my doors. Does anyone know how to remove these and where can I find some replacements? I have already found some OEM Ford parts sites that carry these pieces, but for some reason they will no ship them. Thanks in advance.
can you tell us what you did so we don't do the same.

I just had the lower body parts that are black painted body color. Not a Kit but I like the look.
can you post pic of the paint job

Those pedals are pretty sick... I am actually more excited about the new dash and gauge changes that are coming about. I saw this at the local auto show last fall, and I have to say, I was very impressed!
still waiting to see pricing for the 2011. exterior changes aren't that better than 2009/2010 but interior is major upgrade. They'll have to be a $$ increase

Yes, I do to. It is continuous.
When I shut off the engine, turn the ignition to the accessory position and turn on the Premium head unit with volume all the way down to zero, I can hear what sounds similiar to a small computer fan motor with a bad bearing coming directly from the subwoofer speaker. It also sounds sort of like what a needle playing a vinyl LP record sounds like at the end of a side. Hard to describe and also difficult to diagnose just by listening. Strange. Perhaps its a subwoofer amp going bad or some type of electrical interference getting into the audio. But it is constant and only noticeable with the volume turned down to zero.
I have the same thing under the same conditions. Took it to the dealer and they indicated it was normal. Please post is you find out something different.
The noise is less on AM band but sure about SAT or USB but seemed most pronounced on FM.

How can someone tell if the rear sub woofer is working?
-
I've got about 3k miles on my 2010 and no issues.
I have ~7500 miles on my 2009 and no issue. 18" CLAD wheels still look good, we'll see after this winter though.

Any pricing for the 2011's? With all the added interior technology I would thing pricing should be higher???
-
There is always a limit to how much can be done in a specific development cycle.
I would argue that the 2011 Edge is already at least one if not two or three steps ahead of the competition already.
Not that there is anything wrong with wish lists.

Thanks for the Link. Its sad that clad is the only option for the limited.
Looks like the memory seats have not changed either [or at least their site doesn't elaborate on wether the lumbar and seat position is included in the memory seat option]
Seems like they also redesigned the power lift gate. no more box and strut hanging in the rear.

away way to get an MKX lid with the matching stitching as in the Edge seats
-
meant to be a gag response.
Is there any benefit using a 1g iPod over a 1g flash drive in the Edge for music?
-
you could get one of these if you have the USB in the center console. flash drive & light
-
had a mercedes with a pano roof and lubrication was a big issue. The motors used are torque sensitive for saftey. If a higher torque is sensed it will shut down and not burnout the motor. keeping the rails clean and lubbed is best
-
anyone know if the chrome clad 18" rims have the same issue as the 20". I assume the contruction of the two are very similiar but all I read about are the issue with the 20".

is there a way to select manual tune instead of preset stations with the steering wheel?
What about using the back and forth button on the steering wheel? -
Is that cost for a set of all 4 handles?
Anita,With shipping your cost would be $84.88. According to Ford's website, they are available, usually taking 3-4 days to get to me, then whatever transit Time from Connecticut to you via FedEx Ground. Please let me know if you'd like to order these. Thank you.

DId you do the job youself? Is the special piston push in toll required? or can a standard clamp be used?
