I have 70K miles on my mkx, I think my brakes are in good shape and was expecting pad wear to be like others have said here, around 100K or more. Is that typical for these units?

What is the expected life of brake pads these days? On my GM vehicles I was under the impression I shouldn't have to replace the pads until close to 100K. Brakes on the MKX have always felt good and not made any sounds except here lately when its really cold and wet or one of the two.

Ok thanks. My MKX is an 07 but only has 70000 miles on it so don't think my brakes are bad. I will check the reservoir just to double check.

Mine is doing this now, was it just decided it was during cold and wet times it makes this noise? When I drive it for a while or after it warms up it does not make it.

I will knock off 1500, 16588. Would make great car for anyone with young kids or even a teen driver for a very nice car without breaking the bank. My wives mkx did this today. Started up and worked fine taking my son to school, she came home for a couple of hours before leaving to work and it was dead. Hoping it was just the battery???

update...it was the cooling fans...$750 repair via my ford dealership as my lincoln one closed, but they offered "goodwill" cash and got it down to $275....very nice

I assume this is a related issue but today the mkx overheated....the yellow coolant was low so I filled it up with water after it sprayed everywhere...didnt see any leaks...good lord, as soon as warranty expired the wheels are coming off

So if the clutch face plate needs repair or replacement, any techs out there want to give me a ballpark on price?

ok talking with a coworker who said his ford truck had a similar issue and it was the clutch plate getting stuck and not engaging until enough RPMS were being pushed...he said he took that plate off and removed a wash or shim and as long as there was still some space in there it was fine....so sounds like i have a similar issue although I am no mechanic..i popped the hood today and did not even see the belts....anyone have a schematic of what i am looking for?

Im not sure on the fan motor, its my wifes car so dont drive it much.....engine temp is fine as it does it even after cold crank first thing out of the garage...got to be the fans then huh? What kind of ballpark price wise am I looking at for that repair? My dealer wants to charge 100 to diagnose it

Naturally my warranty just ran out but wondering if there is a tsb on this and what most likely is the problem? AC is fine and cold when traveling but when sitting its hot....just started this a few days ago

Just wondering if this was covered under warranty, my wifes mkx goes out of warranty next month and I noticed her right rear brake light is out..i know I can fix it but if she could swing by the dealer that would be better...

I have the stock wheels and tires....I just found out my local lincoln dealership was bought out by a gmc place next door and they are telling me for warranty service I have to take it to the ford dealership, which is fine I guess except it will probably be a longer wait time. On a side note, my warranty is about to expire so would like to get all I can get fixed now....did I read somewhere that the silver door panels that look faded and dirty would be replaced under warranty?

I am assuming that a bearing is going out...i hear a loud whine when driving up to higher speeds and then it whines down as you slow down....sounds like a rear...i am almost out of warranty so would like to get this covered....

well the ntb alignment is for a year so that is why i kept saying return it to ntb...and thats what i was wondering about the caster, I was thinking i had read it is not adjustable... As for discount tire, what is going to make them believe the tires are the problem? Are they going to take my word for it or even ntb which is direct competition?
