  1. Mine is doing the same. But only when I turn left. I loose power and traction control lights up. I know forsure that its a wheelspeed sensor that is bad. I have tried 3 times to get into the dealer to have it fixed but everytime they are to busy. (Reynolds Ford in East Moline, IL). I almost rear ended someone do to the abs acting up also. Its great!

Same exact thing for me. Left turns only. Car will lose power, light comes on...feels like you just stomped on the brake. I even hear a whining or buzzing noise while this is happening. I was advised a while back from my local Ford garage that it was a Steering Angle (or Angular) Sensor. They said it would cost me about $350 because it wasn't covered under the Powertrain Warranty. I didn't have that kind of money though :(

  2. Have you looked to see if your cabin air filter is clogged/backed up?

It lives behind your glove box and is very easy to check. There's a thread on the forum here with photos on exactly how to pull the glove box out (no tools required), find the filter, and pull it.

HERE you go...check this out. It should help you.

  3. What is your problem with taking it to a dealership. What will you do when your independent shop can't fix the problem. Dealerships are not a ripoff as you say. There are good ones and bad ones sure, but there are good and bad independent shops as well. Also the dealership will tell you if it is covered or not.

WHAT DO I DO????

I even checked Ford Parts online...Can't seem to find the steering sensor that I need.

  4. Turn the auto hvac down to 60 degrees, roll down the windows for a couple of minutes, then roll them back up. You don't need to do anything else. You don't need to rewire your compressor or replumb the heater lines.

Slowing down the fan so the air spends more time moving through the coils is ridiculous. Put it on high and forget it.

Some of us don't have the luxury of Automatic Climate Control.

  5. You may be completely wrong. If the sensor has on open then it is not reading at all and can not send a false signal. we do not know the exact diag though and should not coment either way.

Thanks for making me feel a little bit safer druck52.

  6. To all of you who have had what would seem to be a transmission problem, when you accelerate from first gear and the power drops of abruptly and then slams back into gear, it's not the transmission. I had this problem with my 07 Edge SE around 7000 miles and brought it to the dealer. After failing to fix it the first two times (they did the reprogram and then the PTU gasket) I requested to have a mechanic take a drive with me to witness the issue. Once the mechanic witnessed the issue, he got on the ford hotline and figured out the problem. The problem mainly occurred when taking a turn, and the traction control light would always flicker on. Eventually it was determined to be a faulty steering sensor that was calling for traction control when it was not needed. Once they replaced the sensor, problem solved. Hope this helps anyone having this problem. :banghead:

This could have just solved my problems I've been having! Sounds like the same issue I'm having. I'm going to print this out, as I'm taking it to the shop today. Is this something that is covered under the powertrain warranty?

Just thought I'd add that it looks like I had the same issues fordfanatic described. They say my Steering Angle Sensor (or something like that) needs replace. Since I only have powertrain warranty left, I have to pay for this out of pocket. It's going to be like $315! Anyone have any ideas how I could get this done cheaper??? For the time being I'm just going to do without. The tech said it wouldn't damage anything, I just might not have TC.

  8. Just joined the forum yesterday. Glad to be here. I drive a 2007 Edge SEL Black in color. No mod's at this point other than the smashed in hood and grill from a deer the other day! $1,600 damage isn't too bad though. Getting that fixed next week. :shades:
