Thanks homie, Im def going to take it in and have them re-weld it. I was just not sure what exactly that piece of the frame was for. My alignment is fine, I do not think the frame itself is damaged. I will have them look at it nontheless.

I purchased a Certified Used Edge SEL AWD from a dealership last Saturday. Today I noticed some damage underneath the vehicle. Attached to the frame, behind both front tires is a thick welded metal piece that runs horizontally next to where the front tires attach to the frame. This piece looks fine and unused on the passenger side of the vehicle, but on the drivers side, it is bent upwards, has a major scrape and the piece is tearing off of the frame. I don't know what this piece is used for, or if it needs to be used at all. Can someone help identify it? Yesterday I bought an 08 SEL AWD that was certified pre-owned. They have the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty and for only 1200 they offered me a bumper to bumper extended warranty to 100,000 miles. If you're tripping over the common problems, I suggest getting the extended warranty.

Hello, this is my first post. Last night I bought a 2008 SEL AWD, Dark Blue, 35,000 miles, certified pre-owned, Leather, Tow and Audio package for $19,652. I bought it at Fremont Ford. The initial salesman helped me out a lot, he was a good guy. The rest of the salesmen that actually negotiated the price and interest rate were douchebags until the GM came out, he was cool. It was my first time buying a car.
