What I think that you are looking at is a gusset welded to the frame to provide a jacking point at the front of the vehicle. The fact that is it bent may or may not be a real big deal. Here is what concerns me however. The weld appears to have torn loose from the frame. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED. The weld to frame has appearsw to have no penetration into the frame. IF SO, THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. What other welds on the vehicle are inadequate?
While the damage to the gusset was obviously cause by someone runing over something, I would argue that the gusset would never have torn loose and consequently, never have become bent had it been welded in place properly. Ford should fix this under warranty and all other critical welds should be inspected to ensure this is not a problem elsewhere on the vehicle.
