Well here is what we found out this afternoon about why the tail lights will not work. This SEL has the automatic rear door that lets you open and close it with the key. The wiring harness was bad in the rear door which caused the fuses to short out which left us with no tail lights. The Ford dealership had to order a new wiring harness to fix this problem. With us finding all this out I felt I sould share this information with other folks that might have a problem like this one and hopfully it will help others out. For those that responded to my question I am truly thankful for all the help and advice!

What I ment to say was that the Ford dealer here in town never got back to me or even offered to find us an Edge so I had a friend that has a lot here call one of his Ford dealer friends in Birmingham and found one that day...The Ford dealer here just droped the ball by never getting back to us...they missed out on a sell!

Well the story about this car is kind of funny. I went to the local Ford dealer here in town and told them what I was looking for...2009 Edge.. I had the 2001 Expedition with 100,000 miles I wanted to get rid of because my wife has to work out of town sometimes. All this was on a Saturday...she took the 2001 by there on Monday...got 3 different trade in prices from 3 different people working there...and I never got a call on a price for the 2009 Edge...I waited all week and no one called either one of us back....we did get a call on Friday to say they had one she might be interested in. During this time I found a 2008 with 14,000 miles..was a lease...got a good price on it and bought it.. It's funny that when you are trying to buy a car and they say they want to sell one and then no one would get back to us...go figure! The 2008 is under warrenty so like you said, I might be better off doing it by my self and saving time! Thanks for all the help!!

We are new to the Ford Edge and need some help with a tail light issue. We just purchaced a 2008 Edge SEL after almost 10 years in a Ford Expedition. I noticed when my wife drove off in the Edge a little while ago that the tail lights were not working.. She tried the head light switch off and on and they still would not come on. The brake lights work and the back up lights work just the tail lights will not work. Does anyone know anything that we could try that might help out in getting these lights to come on? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
