Yeah, since Spring has sprung ;-) and the weather was nice, so we decided to have a meeting at a local fast food-parking lot. And, what can I say, really ALL Ford Edge of our city were there! Yes, BOTH of them!
Finally I got the chance to inspect Spacy73's all new 2011 (or is it a 2012???) Edge Sport. Very nice ride you have!
Since Spacy73 is a car audio professional, I got the chance to have my home-made audio installation fine-tuned. Thanks man!

1st or 2nd generation Edge? I could provide a pic of mine (2007 -> 1st gen.)
-
They look good. How do they ride?
They ride fine. Only slightly stiffer than on the factory 17 inch. MPG went down a bit, though.
-
Why didn't you just re-use the stock sensors ?
They are still in the factory wheels sporting snow tires.

Hi,
I'm having problems activating the new TPMS sensors I got with my new rims. I ordered DORMAN 974-026 sensors and an ATEQ VT15 programmer. The sensors react, but very sporadically. I did not get all 4 sensors programmed in one move, since I have only 1 minute per wheel in training mode.
Do you think, the distance between outer tire and sensor is too far?

20inch Diamo 39 Karat white chrome wheels with 255/45's Pirellis. Waddaya think?

That's why some other cars switch from MPG (or Liters/100km) to gal/hour (or Liters/hour) while standing still.

@kempie, bbf2530: Thanks for the information. I didn't think of this functionality.
@Wilson: According to the pictures in the linked PDF, a textured area is one method to achieve the signlight.
-
Would that be the "EDGE" text in the lens?
I don't think so. It's about the spherical glass lens inside the headlamp housing.

Apparently, the headlight lenses of the 2011 Edge have been developed by a company in a small German town near from where I live:
Can someone explain what they mean with the "signlight function" they included in the design? DRLs?

I noticed the weak fan on my 2007 also.
But I think this is because the vent openings are pretty large. If they were smaller, the air would come with more force out of them.
In other words: the amount of air is okay and sufficient, the air speed isn't.

Also, you have to connect pin 19 (Blue/White wire) of the vehicle connector to ground!
This is, what I forgot in my installation back in the days. It's mentioned in the instructions, but it's overlooked easily.
-
Anybody used this unit and have any ideas on what I am doing wrong???
Have the purple wire w/ a 100 ohm resistor to the white, then the white wire to the 18. Wire 19 goes to the ground via a patch cord.
Thanks for the help.
Did you connect the red wire to +12V switched?

but what was so odd, not only that some sort of "reboot" kicked the SJB back into working, is that they were very clearly saying that the passengers side threw the error and not the drivers side despite the fact the drivers side was the dead one. hmmm..
Maybe it's designed after the human brain: left side controls the right extremities and vice versa

No. The physical headlight switch doesn't power the headlights directly. The wires coming out of the light switch contain control signals going into the Smart Junction Box (SJB), in which a small IC and a few relays give power to certain lights.
Knowing problems like this from the Mustangs (2005+), I suspect a problem in your SJB.

Drag Radials in the FRONT?!?

I know this pic from Steeda, that's what led me to those rims. But 22" are way too much for my taste. At least on the Edge. I also would like to see them on an otherwise stock Edge.
255/45 R20 would be a tire size with ZERO difference regarding circumfence to my 17" stock wheels (235/65 R17). But would fit a 255 tread with to a 8.5" wide rim?

I am looking for new shoes for the Edge and found "Diamo 39 Karat" rims pretty well matching, especially in 20 inch chrome trim.
Got anyone a set of these and can provide a picture?
Also, what tire size is suggested, given a rim dimension of 20 x 8.5"?
Regards,
Bastian

I suggest to get your rear wheel alignment checked.

Yea, minor details, like no diesel engine.......
or not enough cupholders
or no armrests
or the suspension being too stiff

1. play some music which is known to have some baseline in it
2. check the radio settings regarding treble/bass (turn up bass)
3. crank the volume to ~50%
then you should hear the sub significally

sorry, only have charcoal part #s - but I wonder of both colors use the same colored covers?
No, there are camel colored covers available.
-
look at post #5 it has them
Yes, post #5 shows them. Except mine are camel color. These are 2 parts that slide together and clip to the base plate of the bracket.
