  1. People are starting to go to first aid for restrictions. Jobs are overloaded and ergonomics hasn't even been addressed yet. Leaders are on the line rather than doing a leaders job. There are many issues with this vehicle that management knows about and walks away from. They aren't shipping anything until mid-November. Also, there is a problem with the AWD units. It is a vendor problem and they haven't sent anything to our repairmen on how to fix it. Perhaps they don't know how to fix it. I would buy the extended warranty though if I were you. First years are always fraught with recalls with subsequent models being better built with less defects. Now if we would get the manpower to produce these vehicles.....
  2. There is the section on blueovalnews.com forums with letters to management. That is why I think Ford has a say on this website. As for the banners appearing only on canadian computers... who knows, its where I log in from
  3. Looks good. Its not my personal favourite colour, but I would have to say the rest of the colours are spot on. Personally I would go for the deep red or black, the red gives it that sleek appeal look while the black is... well, a nice black (the more refined look).
  4. This is a whole new topic. You would think that Ford would screen the advertisment banner on its pages, especially when it comes to automobiles. So why is there an advertisment banner for GM? I click on www.blueovalnews.com and then click to go to the edge forum. Both of these sites had the GM banner on it. Sure they lease out the site for advertisement but you would think they would have some control over what is advertised. They tell us we need to drive Fords to get into the preferred parking, they want us to go out and say how good Ford products are, and then they have a GM banner for all to see when they come to this site? Great message to send to the workers. Its up to us to sell everything while the parent company whores out it advertisment space to whoever will pay the most. Sheesh.
  5. Well, since repairs are behind me I get to see the cars as they come off the line (and into repairs). Anyways someone else pointed it out but the silver Edges don't really look right. Its their paint jobs... or more correctly how the light affects the paint. The doors don't appear to be the same colour as the front quarter panel and the back part. It looks like a mismatched paint job. I actually had to walk up to one ( I didn't touch it because management gets mad when you touch their toys) and make sure the colour was the same. Up close its the same, but from about 10 feet or more away the doors appear a darker colour. Customers are less likely to buy something that may appear badly done. Its just the lighting but none of the other colours have that problem.
  6. Don't get me wrong... I think this would actually be a great vehicle when the bugs are worked out, but there are many issues that management hasn't bothered working out yet. Instead of being proactive, they are being reactive. They know something is wrong, but won't bother addressing it until it becomes a big problem. Seriously, they said the will deal with it when it becomes a big problem... and it was said to our foreman and the workers. I figure that if they fixed the problems when they come across it the first time it would be a lot easier. This would be a car to buy once everything is worked out.
  7. Talk to management. Ask them why we don't have more manpower. There are zones stopping the line because they don't have enough people to do the jobs. I'm on the dash line... the guys that put the dashes in have to stop the line, and try to force the new dashes in. Or the suppliers not matching the interior colours properly. Perhaps its because someone that has a platform does a job on the interior of the vehicle and then has to wait for the vehicle to leave his area, stop the line, enter someone elses area and do the other part of their job on the underside of the vehicle (pretrim... zone A). Or perhaps its the fact that the doors don't fit properly or the welds breaking. None of these things are the line workers fault... its good the guy with the platform stops the line to do the job PROPERLY rather than ship it. The engineers should be hung for not having everything properly set up, the guy in charge of layoffs should be hung for not supplying enough man power... the guy in charge of the work stations (and who can do what) should be beaten with a cast iron frying pan (it wouldn't do much damage to him since he's probably already brain damaged, or so it seems). The suppliers should be charged and forced to pay for screwing up the colours. In other words... plan it out properly, give us the manpower we need and let us run. Make a list of all the problems in each zone and fix them. When we have what we need, have it properly organized and all the parts fit like they should, then we'll make the quality vehicle.
