  1. I was watching a program on TV that covered the current production and history of Ferrari automobiles. At the end it was noted that Ferrari uses strut and shockabsorber technology developed in the US. This is the magnetic system used in the Corvette and several Cad models. Is this system available from suppliers. I think it is but will have to research the matters. As I remember it greatly improves handling with not loss of a comfortable ride. Magnetized fluid in cylinder isstantanly changes viscocity with force applied.

That magnetized fluid system was AMAZING. I watched a TV show last year on some guys doing that to a hummer.

  2. My wife and I were lucky enough to be chosen by Gibson exhaust to get a cat back system done on our SEL plus last month. We had to leave it with them for 3 days and the work came out Awesome!!! it has got to be coming to their online catalog soon. It sounds similar to the 350Z but a tad louder. Not sure what it did to performance as they didn't have a chance to dyno it it feels more peppy. Hopefully we can get a cold air intake for it to help it out even more!!!

*** My wife can actually care less that I am doing stuff to HER car but its still cool!***

I envy you so much its kinda gross. GRRR!!!! I want one! Any tips on how I can get them to hook me up? How much was it btw? I love the 350z sound!

  3. I agree about the lift gate. Even though I am a big guy, I think that is a ridiculous statement. WOW, some of the stupid things people whine about. Like Edgy Girl said, it would be nice to have a power lift gate, but GET A GRIP! it isnt that heavy.

Agreed. My wife and I actually feel comfort in the Edge being built so sturdy. Now a days its just great to not have plastic cars. I love the weight of the doors and the hatch.

  4. wow, drag racing heavy vehicles on a street to speeds upward of 80... Thanks for adding to all the danger of the roads in the bay area. I'll know to stay away from Palo Alto with my MKX.

    Grow up!

heh, it was in a straight line and there were no vehicles in the area to hit other than each other. Two lane straight away without any crossroads. I'm here to discuss performance/customization issues, not to get lectured on vehicle saftety, otherwords i'd go to Soccermom's website. I'm too old for that.

  5. OK, so I was on a straightaway in palo alto yesterday with a friend of mine on the way to breakfast, when a guy in a black 2007 escalade with a girl in the passenger side pulls up and gives me the "look." The light turns green and we floor it. I'm thinking he's got a lot of power, but he's also got a lot of weight. I get an early lead of about a half car length, from that point on we got and gave a few inches through 60 mph. at 80mph I looked back and he was still right there with me about a half car length behind. his passenger door was lined up pretty good with my left rear tire. a few secs later my friend leans over at the speedometer and goes "Wow, 105 thats the fastest I've driven!" I got to about 110 when we started breaking for the next streetlight. We laughed and waved farewell.

I was impressed. The Edge maintained the lead against the Escalade to 110 MPH. At first I was skeptical, but it is what it is.

  6. There were two reasons we bought our Edge at the time we did:

1- previous car was about to crap out after only 5 years since new, we werent sure it was going to make it to the end of the week no matter end of the year!

2- upcoming camping trip. My old Nissan sedan was struggling to hold all the stuff we wanted to take to go camping and an SUV/CUV was on the cards.

I would probably stay in the back once in a while, but we had plenty of stuff with us and the dog too, so we loaded up with the tent, cooler, chairs, dog crate and a multitude of other stuff for the weekend. It fit with room to spare in the trunk.

Haha, awesome. Yah it was just the two of us. I put this in the wrong forum, can someone else switch it to the general forum?

    Thanks.

  7. I had my car tuned on a dyno with the SCT program. Much more hp and better gas milage. But the best was the program for the auto trans. 1st to 2nd is much harder now and it won't drop into overdrive as soon, or having to drop back a gear searching for the performance when the throttle is added a little bit. Alternative Auto may soon be working on a program for the Edge.

Hey, can u give some more information about this? And how much power/mpg did you gain?

  8. My husband installed HIDs on my Edge. They look really nice and are soooo much better than the factory lights. My vision at night isn't the greatest and they help me out tons :yup:

This weekend he is going to have installed MobileEase while I am away for the weekend, yay!

Any pics, I'd like to see that.

  9. Dan, definitly interested in aftermarket parts/performance....i have'nt even driven mine home yet because tomorrow it is bieng lowered with the h&r springs...22" wheels are on order and a body kit should be on by middle may. Keep us posted

Hey I'd like to see how this turns out Saleen.

  10. Hey guys, I got my copper SEL+ fully decked 2 weeks ago (pic in the galleries). I'm 6 feet tall, and so is my wife. We were really comfortable in the back with the seats down. Blankets and all.put down the passenger seat and put my laptop on it. The Vista roof is awesome for star gazing too. Watched Pirates of the Caribbean before we "fell asleep."

I strongly recommend it if any of you all are interested in camping.
