So, my 2007 MKX has the vista roof. When I press the button to open it it opens till there are about 8 inches left. If I press it again it opens all the way. Closing is a different story, it closes till about 8 inches then I have to hold the button to close it the rest of the way. What I'm understanding from this thread is it should open completely/close and not stop and not have to be assisted by holding the button. Is this correct? The dealership said these were safety features. Were they lying and not wanting to deal with it or were they correct? Any ideas guys?

You were exactly right sir. I waited till the volume moved off the front speakers and I could then control her volume up/down without affecting the stereo volume. Just an fyi there were no volume settings under the nav settings menu. The Ford dealership, when I called them about this said, "We can't fix this over the phone you'll have to bring it in so we can hook it up to the computer to diagnose the problem it will most likely be a programming issue." This technician had no idea you could control her volume when she speaks. This was Paul Miller Ford in Lexington, KY. Thanks so much for your assistance guys. :banvictory:

An important thing to note about the chrome door handles! After speaking with Ford, I've found out that MKX's (possibly the edge also) manufactured before 1-15-07 are NOT compatible with the these chrome door handles. Anything after that date is good. After 1-15-07 they changed a lot about the way the MKX was manufactured. Those MKX's are very close to the 2008's. You can check your date by looking on the sticker on the driver door. Mine said 3/07. So anyways my handles will be in Friday! A local body shop picked them up discounted for me using the part numbers in this thread. :D

So I'm not sure if I've made the lady mad or what but well the sound moves to the back speakers as if the navigation is about to tell me to take the next turn but the lady does not speak. It was working last weekend but today as I'm heading on vacation the chick doesn't want to talk to me. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this? I have the 7p navi disc and this is a 2007 MKX manufactured in March on 2007.
