  1. We use Ford Edge SE and SEL for company cars. We just converted to Ford Fleet Vehicles from Dodge. All of our Ford Taurus SE / SEL Limited , EDGE SE, SEL , and FLEX SE /SEL have DRL's I did notice a charge on the window sticker from Ford for about $60 for DRL option on the cars we are receiving. Our corporation mandates all FLeet vehicles with DRL's. So yes the EDGE SE does have DRL. Low Beam Headlight comes on after one goes from Park (lights off) to Rev or Drive. DRL's active. I have the SEL AWD for Manager Car, and has automatic headlights. My DRL's work fine in the auto mode. I leave the light switch in Auto mode, and the DRL works the same as my Service Engineers SE models. They stay off in park and come on in Reverse or Drive. From what I can tell it is the low beam bulb that comes on at a lower voltage because the lights become brighter when it rains (auto lights come on ) or one turns on the headlight from auto/off to On via its switch Sorry I can not confirm upgrade to existing EDGE SE /SEL if not already optioned from the factory.
  2. I have a 2010 Ford Edge SEL AWD with Nav Premium sound. SEL only has door speakers and base subwoofer. No tweeters like in the Limited Edge. Question: My AMP shorted and blew while receiving call on cell thru bluetooth on radio. Ford Uses 3rd party Radio repair. locally H&H radio. No DTC errors. They just said the amp was bad and recut and reseated ground wire to chassis. DSP choice on Nav (All seats/ front speakers / back speakers) after the repair Front speaker choice sounds better. or all speakers. I assume this digital signal processing thru speakers. I ask how the Amp could of blown ?? They did not know. They said it may have been feedback from the answered phone call via the Sync. Thanks
  3. New Ford Amp arrived, took it to original dealer. Ford uses (3rd party Radio repair) Paperwork showed H&H Radio repair. No charge since under warranty. Amp replaced and now I have my sound back, with good base. Can anyone explain DSP (I assume this is Digital Signal Processing) choices are all speakers, front speakers and rear speakers. After Amp replaced the SEL sound better with Front Speaker choice on DSP on Nav radio. Thanks
  4. I received a new Ford 2010 SEL AWD Edge Dec 2010. Company Car but very well loaded. 1. After about 2 months I noticed the Chrome Clad (Plastic ) Wheel covers with glue marks and road dirt on glue type adhesive. 2. Took car in to local Ford. They said the plastic film was never removed from Chrome Clad Wheels. 2 hr cleanup at Ford with Goof Off cleaner. 3. 4 Months later same issue. They missed some glue on the chrome clad. I was informed this was damage to chrome clad caused by road debrise. 4. Cleaned myself with Goof off cleaner. A. After my AMP on the NAV radio shorted, took car to dealership. B. They had to order part. C. Picked up vehicle and noticed glue dripping from the rear hatch painted panel. (Above license plate) Ford Emblem is scratched or paint missing. And now glue was running down each side of hatch release onto paint. I guess it was the 100F heat in Texas this summer. Cleaned up with Goof off cleaner. When I take my car back for Radio AMP replacement I will show the dealership the glue that is dripping down the painted surface above the license plate. The actual white painted hatch cover is loose where the glue has been melting.
  5. While driving back from a business trip I had NAV running/ Sirius Radio Going, and Blackberry Bluetooth connected. Upon receiving a call from Blackberry on screen of the Nav answered call and all speakers started to buzz, especially the Subwoofer. Cancelled call. Turned off Radio. Turned Radio back on and same buzzing sound from subwoofer then it stopped. Along with all the base in the Edges Sound system. I checked and pull all the fuses for the Subwoofer and radio. All check ok. Press buttons 3 and 6 on radio go into radio speaker test and all speakers make a sound except subwoofer. Double check Subwoofer fuses. All OK. Everything else works fine, Sirius / Nav / Cell phone except not receiving incoming calls ID now. Run full diagnositics on NAV radio, No DTC errors. By the way thanks to forum, I was able to pull full diagnostic tests from this forum. So off to the dealership. Vehicle 9 months old 13K. By the Way Ford Dealerships use 3rd party Radio company's to diagnose radios. At least in Austin Texas. I get a call back from dealership the AMP is bad. Also found bad wiring in harness. I get the car back and the sound system sounds like a tiny speaker box. Found cut wiring bits in console. And backseat plastic grommet (lock mechanism) plastic housing missing. After 1 1/2 weeks new AMP in from OEM (Not Ford but Sony I believe). I will take the car in monday to be fixed hopefully. I paid extra for the premium system upgrade upon order for this vehicle w/ NAV 2200.00 Nav upgrade with premium Sound. Heads up Ford Edge SEL, you do not get the tweeters in the pillars with premium sound. Only a speaker at each door and a subwoofer. PS> I checked mysync version. I could never get the vehicle health report to work. I reloaded firmware on USB from MySync and now the vehicle health report works. Also after investigation I have Rev 2 of the navigation firmware. Rev 3 was out from Navteq since July 2009. Car delivered 12/2009. I am not paying 199.00 for upgrade. Also with the NAV you don't get free Travel Link. You have to purchase a separate plan from Sirrus both for the Radio(which I have) 2 different services. Has anyone had a subwoofer or AMP fail on a new Edge? I've never had it over 3/4 volume. I hate to say this but my old Jeep Grand Cherokee had a better Radio system (Infinity) than the Ford. Thanks Chuck

  7. I just picked up my 2010 Ford Edge SEL AWD. 202A package with leater. And nav upgrade premium sound. I only have speakers in the doors , no tweeters in the A pillars. I do have the boom box built into the passer rear compartment. I thought the premium sound package upgrade with Nav Radio, included 9 speakers. Thanks
  8. I just tooked deliver of 2010 SEL AWD w Nav upgrade and Cargo Package. 1. Nav Radio Premium update nice, but I noticed no A Pillar tweeters, The premium sound upgrade should have 9 speakers. Was this changed in 2010 or only get tweeters with Limited 2010 Edge. I thought a premium upgrade included same package. 2. Also got the Cargo Package. Dealer said I was missing part of the cargo package setup, and would be shipping from Ford. I have the electric lift, but am I missing cargo floor organizer. Thanks
  9. I just took delivery of my 2010 Ford Edge SEL AWD 202A package. I upgraded to the premium Nav Radio, with supposedly 9 speakers. I noticed the SEL does not have the tweeters in the A pillers such as the Limited. Am I missing something here. I thought the premium upgrade with Nav radio included tweeters in the A pillar and 9 speakers. Thanks
  10. I just got my SEL AWD 2010 Edge. I had the Navigation added with premium sound. Speakers sound ok, but I did not get the tweeters in the A-pillars. Did the factory miss this with the upgrade or does the SEL premium sound with nav just have the door speakers and subwoofer in rear passenger panel. Thanks
  11. Thanks for the Response Matts 2010 Edge I just received my Fleet Driver Passport. We use this for maintenance profile. You are correct, oil change is designated every 7.5K Miles, instead of the old 5k Mile oil change Cabin filter replacement at 22.5K. And the air filter does not require replacement until 30K. Spark plug change at 90K and coolant and transmission service at 150K. Our maintenance schedule is setup based on Ford Fleet profile. I double checked with our Fleet coordinator. You are correct, Ford has a very different service profile than say Dodge/Jeep. Interesting Dodge had a mandatory oil change of 5K, Air Filter every 10K and Transmission fluid change every 30K. Still waiting for delivery of my 2010 SEL, I was notified it shipped from Canada, should arrive in Texas Week of 12 /21/2009. Thanks
  12. My new 2010 SEL AWD Edge White Suede should arrive soon. Replacing 2006 Grand Cherokee AWD FLEET vehicle. Company options included, 202A package, Remote Start, DRL I paid for the Nav Radio upgrade and Power Hatch Release. Does anyone else have the power rear hatch release and remote start package? Do they work in concert with each other. How is the NAV/sound system in the Ford ? Hope to see my New Edge by Christmas.
  13. After 10 years of ordering Dodge/Jeep vehicles for our company fleet, we have decided to switch to all Ford Taurus/ Edge/ Flex. for North America Does anyone else in the group have any long term input on reliabilty of the Edge based on 15 to 20K / year mileage. MPG average and service history. We have a mandatory oil change service every 5K and transmission service every 30K. Should we adjust our service profile based on AWD vs FWD fleet.?? Thanks Chuck
