  1. What he said.... I agree. the Ford unit is not bad, but for the $$$ (a $1995.00 msrp option if I remember correctly), you could get an awesome aftermarket unit that looks like it came from the factory, and works much better/more features/sounds better. Just my 2 cents worth. Checkout Crutchfield.com... If you're a do-it-youselfer, I think you'll be pleasantly surpised. Good luck.

Just looked around Crutchfield and they have some nice units but it looks like they will all require an adapter and also a satellite receiver to keep my Sirius going. Also I'm not sure if the USB and line in connections would still work properly. I don't really need the nav system I'm just aggravated with how much trouble it is to tune to a particular channel with the controls available with the 6 disc changer radio. It would be so much easier to chose if I had a touch screen to do it.

  2. Has anybody done any research into the cost of adding the factory Nav system to a 2010 SEL that didn't have one factory installed? Some of the aftermarket units look great but I'd really want to keep the Sync functionality intact. Any info. would be appreciated.

Hmmm, 237 views and no replies, I guess I'm not the only one that's clueless about this.

  3. They're glued on so you can't get them off.

I'm guessing they glue em on so they can't fly off

    and

so they can call them chrome clad instead of what they are, $800 plastic hub caps. :hysterical:

Thanks for the info., I was afraid that was the case. Oh, well.

  4. Has anyone taken the chrome wheel covers off to see what the aluminum wheels look like? I haven't gathered the energy to do it yet and I'm curious exactly what they look like uncovered. Looking at the inside of a wheel from the opposite side of the car they appear to be cast aluminum. I'm wondering if they could be painted a gloss black and used without the wheel covers. Maybe with some black lugnuts and maybe a black center cap of some kind.

Does anyone have any info. related to this part of my post or do I need to take them off and look for myself? :-)

  5. Damn! I just realized that the "chrome" wheels on my new Edge are gonna be PLASTIC??? This kinda ticks me off!! Wonder if they'll switch 'em to the standard rim before I pick it up?

Don't feel bad, I had mine for two weeks before I realized they were wheel covers. Looked again at the website and it does say "chrome clad" which I guess didn't register in my feeble brain.
