  1. I bought my Kodiak Brown Edge without seeing it in person. I have some pictures posted in the Welcome Forum Section. Just look up by date below. I have gotten many complements especially when the sun shines, then the color really pops!

  2. Hi All,

I just wanted to add a couple of new pictures on what The Kodiak Brown Metallic looks like on my 2013 Edge.

I had to wait for the right sun angle to get the shots I wanted since I wasn't too happy with the originals I posted.

  3. I added LED reverse bulbs today here are the pics next I am planning on putting LED bulbs into all my turning lights...Has anyone changed all there turning lights was curious to know if i need to buy resistors for them...I had KC300C change my rear dome light to LED's waiting for them to come back can't wait to see how they look...

Which ones did you use? Thinking about doing that to my 2013 Edge.

    Thanks

  4. Thanks for this thread! I just made mine today. Cost me $4.60 for all materials and time spent at the wood shop. Just got sheet foam to cover the top, sadly they didn't have black. Darkish blue was the closest thing to a man's color they had there lol. Thanks everyone for all your input on the design.

Here is how it turned out:

Looks good. Now I have another project to add to my list.

  5. Congrats on the ride man! The colour is cool. Needs the sun to make it pop, just like the black does really. I had a helluva time with the adhesive too. I ended up using solvent to remove it. I think I spent 12 hours doing mine up after I got it. You should look into Opti Coat for the paint, trim, glass and wheels. It is the best coating (sealant does not give it credit: it's a permanent coating) option money can buy!

I do not sell it, but use it in my detailing business:

    Thanks!

I am familiar with optimum name but never used any of their products. I see they have a new no rinse wash and shine which sounds intriguing.

  6. Looks super sweet. The color is unreal, might be the "new black". My previous ride was a '06 Explorer, color was called dark stone. At times it looked dark charcoal grey, almost black, and at times it had a tinge of dark tan/brown look to it. What type of sealant.polish did you use? Have the 20" chrome wheels on my MKX, I put a good coat of wax on them too. Might want to give it a shot. Enjoy your ride.

    Thanks,

I use a product called GLARE. I used it on my 07 MKX and 10 MKX. It can be found at glare.com. Been very happy with it. I put on 2 coats and am good to go.!

It can be put on both by hand or orbital buffer.

  7. Hi All,

I picked up my new Kodiak Brown Metallic with Sienna interior Edge yesterday. Attached is a picture and I have uploaded the rest to the gallery and in my picture area.

It is a tough color to photograph. I walked right by the car initially because when the sun doesn't shine, it looks black. When the sun is shining it is a deep golden brown metallic.

I had the dealer put on a complimentary pinstripe. I now have two coats of sealant/polish on it now. The chrome wheels were something else. Whatever adhesive Ford uses

to attached the plastic sheets that cover the wheels for transport, is a royal pain (No, the kids that prep the car at the dealership didn't get it all off). Luckily I had some goo gone and some elbow grease.

They are still not perfectly clean but I will get there.

Also, I remember someone taking about Ford and orange peel paint. One tight shot in the gallery, you can see it quite clearly but I don't notice it while looking at in in a normal fashion.

I am off to treat the leather seats now! Thanks for reading my post.

  8. Don't mean to thread hijack but did we ever find out why Ford is building 2013 models so much earlier than they have in the past? Just trying to think ahead and figure out the impact that so many 2013s (and so few 2012s) will have on the future used car market, especially as it relates to my 2011.

My salesman said they moved up the timetable because of the MFT upgrades. Whether you can believe them or not is another story.

  9. Hey fellas! This will be my first new vehicle purchase and i have been doing some research and I am a little nervous about spending this much money on a Edge Limited FWD with all of these issues. The good seems to be still out weighing the bad, but I am still doing more research, especially with this MFT software issue. is it any better in the 2012s vs the 2011s? I sure do hate to see the 08 TL go, but the Edge does look sexy in black...mmm yummy! any sort of imput would be apprecieated.

I have a 2013 Edge on order which should come with the upgraded software. They are building it the 3rd week of February and I should have it by the end of March at the latest. I figure even if it doesn't come on it. The upgrade should be out by the end of March.

If I was buying a 2012. I wouldn't be concerned over a couple of months until the upgrade.

  10. I want the fog lights and auto dimming side mirrors and small front console storage. i am going to miss those going from my MKX to the Edge.

HID lights a stand alone option. I am getting older and I could then live without the fog lights then since the HID's are much brighter.

Would like the heated steering wheel and better grocery hooks in the back. Honda did it right on my 04 Pilot. There were 4 of them and

they were actual shaped hooks that folded up and down.
