  1. Used 32GB San Disk 2.0 and worked fine first time.

Manny 2525: Besides the 5 files you listed in the SyncMyRide folder - you also need on the USB drive.

    • Autoinstall.lst - This starts the install process
    • Dontindx.msa - Not sure what this does

Detailed instructions are on www.owner.ford.com under Sync3 section. Or call Ford Technical Support and they can assist you.

To access Technical Support - Ford Tech Technology Center - 800-392-3673 press #1 for English & then press #3 for the Technology Center. I have spoken to them a couple of times and they are very helpful and knowledgeable.

    Hope this helps.

Yea I also had those files. Still no luck. Thanks for the help tho. Supposedly the WiFi updates went out today (article on The Verge). Going to try that today.

  2. Attempted for the 4th time yesterday, still no luck. It states system updating for 40-45 minutes and then nothing happens. Went out and bought a 32gb Flash Drive, and formatted to exFAT, as per Ford website. Any suggestion as to what I am doing wrong? Here are the files the I downloaded from Ford website:

    GB5T-14G386-AA.tar.gz

    HB5T-14G386-TCB.tar.gz

    HN1T-14G381-SA.tar.gz

    HN1T-14G391-CC.tar.gz

    HN1T-14G423-CA.tar.gz

  3.

Some things we learned early in this thread, that have been partially forgot now that the official update is out.

Sync3 seems to do better with the update when you use a USB 2.0 drive vs a USB 3.0 Drive. Also, it does not seem to prefer the large drives. The smallest drive that will still fit the files, the better.

Also, The Non-Navs take longer. They run the update in pieces. Since the Non-Navs have less space to play with on the unit, they cannot load the whole install at once, so it does it in steps.

Make sure your Flash drive is freshly formatted before you copy the files to it.

Thanks for the information. I have a 8gb USB 2.0. My unit is a navi unit. I downloaded the files from Ford Owner website. Since it is only when download file, how can I be certain it is non-Nav vs. Nav update? I will try again and will let you know what happens. Thank you again!

  4. I noticed this yesterday after I was cleaning the front passenger window of my car. There is something that seems the be on the inside of the glass. I tried to clean it off from the outside and inside, but nothing works. I emailed my dealer and going to take it in this week.

Also, took the car for a car wash, a hand wash at that, and there is a scratch on the grill. It sucks, two weeks in and a scratch already. Its so annoying. Have never removed a scratch before. How much does it usually costs? You cannot feel the scratch so I know its no deep and the length of the scratch is about 6 inches.

  5. Manny, the key with the H15 bulbs is to reach in and turn bulb counter clock wise and leave the plastic electric thing in place.

Driver side takes about 12 seconds.

Passenger side you want to do before the car is hot as the coolant hose has metal pieces that will burn you.

The bulbs are behind a rubber round thing that you just pull off.

Or you can do it like I did by pushing power plastic thing down and then cursing for the next hour as it is impossible to put it back with the bulb already plugged in.

    Thanks for the info!!

  6. I do

Doubtful - I've noticed the same thing in other vehicles over the years - Bluetooth sounding OK and USB sounding great, in particular. Sirius I'm not so sure about.

For the OP, here's that shot I promised of my settings. Also, I'm in Surround mode and balance/fade are set to default:

    I don't see the shot

  7. Do you guys use view new content? I don't think I've browsed individual forums in several years.

It's usually easy to see whether a new topic is relative or not.

I think that's why people have been complaining. Most of use just went to 2015+ and read everything there. It was an awesome source of information because it applies directly to second gen.

  8. I kind of agree in the sense that the Sony Speakers sounded clearer on my '11 Edge, but I love Bass, and the speakers sound good to me. I have the bass set to full, treble 75% of the bass, and mid-range in the middle, by default. The big difference is stereo sounded better in '11 Edge, but surround sounds better in '16 Edge. Does anyone know the spec differences for these speaker systems ('11 Edge vs. '16 Edge)?

  9. I had the 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II bookmarked, and now the 2015-2016 stuff is all over the place. Sorry, but I don't care to read anything about the 1st generation Edges as I no longer own one. It is much easier for someone looking for info on the 2015-2016 Edge to have their sub-forum.

True, not fair how the first gen gets its own individual years. But second gen its about going to go find the information.

  10.

Some may apply, but not most I'm guessing. A rattle on a 2010 is not going to matter in a redesigned 2015. And visa versa. When I see thread about a roof rack for 2010 the options are a lot different than 2015 due to the design.

For me it'll be a turnoff to have to come and read a bunch of threads that I can't help because I don't own a 1st Gen. Going in to the 2nd Gen forum I knew it applied to my interests.

Now for those that owned the 1st Gen and now the 2nd gen I can see where this would be less of a hassle. They own the knowledge for both generations and can participate/add in the conversations.

But for me being only a 2nd gen guy, reading about 1st gen issues (which probably makes up for a lot of the overall content on the site) is a waste of time.

I'm just hoping for a way to easily filter between the two generations.

Agreed, the older format was much better. This is gonna take time to get used to.

  11. 3 options.....

    Leave the door open

Leave the key in the vehicle

    Turn off the engine

Yea but its only annoying cause you go from not having the honk to having it, and especially since it seems louder than regular honk. If we had it from beginning, then its a different story. Plus why turn on/off the car for two seconds, or why leave key in car when the convenience of key fob is left in pocket, and cannot leave door open in a public parking lot? But I get your point.

  12. I picked up my sport on Friday, absolutely love it so far!!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing that is annoying is the 2 honks to alert the vehicle is running while key fob is in my pocket. My '11 didn't make this sound. This is truly annoying. I like to park the car the get coffee in morning and leave the car idle for while I run inside the store. But this alert is annoying. Give us an option to turn it off!! Prob won't happen lol. Other than this, the Sport is amazing!

  13. Funny you mention the new RX 350 Fsport(they are a great looking suv)......I had one last week try to race me light to light. After the first block I realized what he was doing, so the next light we stopped at I thought I would give him a run....at the time I did not know how fast the new fsport was.....need less to say the next light to light race I played with him til we hit 60km/h(by then I could tell he was trying to race me) then I punched it and the edge walked away from the 350 like it was standing still.......all I can say I never get use to how much fun the edge sport is to drive.

Its exactly why I chose the Edge Sport over the new 350 F Sport. As nice as the 350 looks, the F Sport has the same exact engine as its regular model. The F Sport is just an appearance package with Sport and Sport+ drive modes. Look great, but drives real heavy. The new Edge Sport is just insane and feels really light.
