I am math challenegd.. is cash back or better APR better?

Recommended Posts

I would not worry about that very much, as an educated guess would say that with the state of the economy and car sales, the Incentives will likely stay the same, or increase. So this will hopefully work in your favor.

that was the fleet guys assessment also. 'could' 'maybe' 'possibly' work in my favor by delaying to see how incentives change.

If possible, ignore both incentives and use your Credit Union.

I learned , a long time ago, that their rates and convenience cannot be beaten..

I always buy used-private-cash, but the downside of this "method" is that wonderful vehicles such as a new Ford Edge are automatically excluded...

I used a credit union on my first car.. right now, none of them can touch the APR's Ford is offering - if you have good credit and qualify that is.

speaking of which, on the 9th of this month Ford improved their APR's by 1 point and added more cash back on cash only incentives by $500! What was 3.9% APR financing for 36 months, 4.9% APR financing for 48 months, 5.9% APR financing for 60 months, 7.9% APR financing for 72 months.

is now 1.9% APR financing for 36 months, 2.9% APR financing for 48 months, 3.9% APR financing for 60 months, 5.9% APR financing for 72 months

and what was 1000 cash rebate is now 1500

imagine 1.9% for 3 years PLUS they have $500 incentive on top of that!! or $1500 incentive if pay cash

here is the latest: http://www.fordvehicles.com/incentives/offers/

speaking of incentives.. the one thing that is odd on that page is that it is broken down into 3 headings of incentives under RETAIL OFFERS (blue tab with arrow turned down)..

CASH BACK INCENTIVES

CASH + APR

APR ONLY

but then the content under them does not really line up with those headings...

for example CASH BACK INCENTIVES says 'retail customer cash' of $1500 'PLUS" 'Ford Credit Bonus Customer Cash' of $500 - yet the 'Ford Credit Bonus Customer Cash of $500' goes on to say 'if you use Ford credit or lease'.. which are both credit options so why is that $500 under CASH BACK INCENTIVES and not down under CASH + APR??? this kind of implies $2000 (1500 'PLUS+' 500) cash until you read the fine print.

then, under CASH + APR it says only 'Ford Credit Bonus Customer Cash' for $500... BUT nothing about an APR.. should there not also be an APR list there also?

then, under APR ONLY it lists both a cash incentive of 'Ford Credit Bonus Customer Cash' of $500 and the great APRs list with that.... but that is suppose to be APR only and not cash back incentives according to the heading.. so should it not be up under the other heading??

point is, it seems like the headings do not line up with their incentives below
