Actually it wasn't that bad,I know the head of parts and he gave me the parts for his costs.So the axle shaft BT4Z-3A329-A was $200. the seal 8T4Z-7275-DC was $8.46 plus labour $413.so it costed me total $621.46 plus tax well ya know that I look at it ,it sucks! They gave me a years warranty on it so thats good. They updated my sync for free but I don't think they did it correctly.I see no change at all in it.I heard it was supose to install a 911 feature whick I don't have.It looks identical to what it used too.Dose anybody know how to check what version you have? I tried through -Media-user setting -information. So numbers came up but did not reconize them and they were darkened out,they were not brite like the rest of the words.My Edge is an 08 and from what I have found on the internet the newest version is 2.1.I don't no if they put a new version for the 2011(new style sync and it didn't take on my older equipment(sync).

I am getting mine fixed as we speak,NOT under warranty. 4 and a half hours labour @ $118. per hour,parts around $300. plus 14% tax.Do the math $966.78 lucky me.I own a 97 F150 4X4 never had to do anything to except normal maintenance,brakes,a starter,altenater.Nothing else the motor has 150,000 mile and run great! Should have bought another truck

they said the ptu shaft had to be changed.The bill is going to be around $800.00 after taxes.If this dosen't last like a lot of them that I have read.I think I'm going to lose it

Ford dealer just called to tell me I was correct and it is the PTU seal but they will look at the shaft and they might have to replace that to, $250. just for the shaft and 4 hours labour @ $118. an hour. The car starter dose not work $50. for the part and another 2 2.5 hours plus oil change 1 hours labour another $118. plus taxes. This Edge is starting to leave a foul tast in my mouth. Can't wait for the next phone call to see what else it needs and at what price!

Hi Everybody I too have an Edge with the famous PTU seal problem but I bought my Edge off Ebay.I am Canadian and the car is American(just tring to help suport your finanical situation).My problem is it is an 08 with 117000KMs about 65000 miles.The Canadian dealer dosen't want to touch it because I bought outside of Canada (ediots) so the seal replacement is out of my own pocket,lucky me. What is your warranty if bought in the states,what mileage is it cover up to? Nothing wrong with adding to a dead post,because people like me who have the same problem can learn.So all you guys that feel silly...Don't. I was told by my Ford dealer that it used to be behind a panel in the cargo area.But they do not do that anymore,you have to get it scanned now.

Hi Guy's Is there a post on how to change the rear wheel bearing or hub for an 08 edge anywhere?

I too think I have this problem but mine is not under warrenty.Does anyone know how much I'll be looking at when I receive my bill?
