  1. Great info! I'll bring it in to the dealer when the air runs down. At least it's a known problem and even if that's not the direct cause at least they should be able to check it out under warranty. Thanks!
  2. Having same problem on my 2011 sport with the Pirelli's. Front driver tire has a slow leak - takes 3-4 weeks to go from about 38 to 26 or so to trip the low pressure light. I haven't brought it in yet, but only have 15K miles on these tires so i'm a little concerned i'll have to pony up for some new tires at 250/each. Shame the reseating didn't work for you - i'll have to take mine in and see what they can do if anything. Wonder if anyone else has had success with fixing the issue...
  3. Upgrade went smoothly from 2.4 to 2.11. I was so happy to do this at home - i was actually putting off an oil change to schedule that and the MFT upgrade together. Took me about 40 minutes with no adverse affects so far. Improvements from 2.4 to 2.11 include: bigger fonts, fixed Sirius channels with voice, snappier response (still not Apple-fast but much better than before), better USB integration with iPhone (fixed issues with building index and album art), faster on/off of backup camera. Hopefully with the at-home updates we can now get more frequent, incremental updates. I think we may be mostly happy once we get to v3.0! One note I thought was interesting - on the Mac it requires Google Chrome for browser integration. No other browser (including Firefox) is supported. Guess MS isn't running the show on these!
  4. I'm having similar experiences after upgrade to 2.4 about a week and a half ago. I had typical issues previously including inconsistent brightness of main screen, volume levels out of whack, had nav fault several times that took several restart cycles to resolve, etc. After going to 2.4, i still have inconsistent brightness of main screen (where it stays day bright on first startup at night sometimes) and had 1 major nav fault which wouldn't resolve until overnight. Last night our seat heaters wouldn't work after startup. Tried for about 5 minutes when suddenly screen goes black and does full restart, sync maintenance screen. After that it worked fine and was much faster for responses. My prior car was a G35 and every 3-6 months the whole nav/radio/environ system would freeze up in the morning and take about 15 minutes for complete reboot, but then it would work flawlessly until the next reboot. I can deal with occasional reboots but all this uncertainty with various functionality is really disturbing. I had higher hopes for the 2.4 update.
  5. I don't agree...this doesn't seem like an overreaction, since Ford is specifically stating that replacing APIM is not advised. I haven't seen anyone else with this dramatic of a problem, but if you really start to add up these various issues, there appears to be a class action lawsuit brewing. Slow response, lack of BT audio is problematic but forgivable. Malfunctioning speedometers that cannot be fixed is a major safety concern. When was the last time anyone here had a new car that had a malfunctioning speedometer that couldn't be fixed? Look at all the class action lawsuits regarding Apple and the quality of their materials (excessive scratching on iPods, easy breaking glass on iPhone). This is very troubling and is something we all need to stay abreast of.
  6. Yikes. This sounds like a hardware problem. When you had the 2.4 update done, did they replace your APIM module or just do the software? I'm starting to think that there are two sets of issues - one is a software item with all the regular bugs we see. The second is a hardware problem which causes those catastrophic failures. I think my hardware is good but have some problems with the software. I'm getting the 2.4 update tomorrow so we'll see. It is certainly plausible that a person could have a software problem then coincidentally end up with a hardware failure that would have happened regardless of the software.
  7. Yep. Have the problem too. Something with Safari mobile and this board software. I have had success with Atomic Web browser. Works better in general. Give that one a try and see if it helps. It does tabbed browsing. Overall the software for this board isn't well optimized for touch computing. I usually go to my laptop when I want to see what's up here.
  8. My '11 Sport has nav and I think that the map database is at least 1 year old, possibly 2. The POI data is quite a bit out of date and there are major roads that are more than a year old that aren't on the database at all. Have had missing data in Orlando (where I live), Jacksonville FL, and Tennessee (recent road trip). I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this. I expected that this is a new system we would have data that was at least current in 2010. I'm a little disappointed. The system does work well overall, although the Nav Traffic usefulness is mediocre. That's a problem with the provider not Ford. Data is often old or not relevant. I've seen new alerts that weren't accurate or seemed worse that depicted on the alert. I do wish we had a scroll wheel/knob as it's hard to use touch to move around the screen. But there are other very useful items such as being able to have context sensitive menu choices such as magnification values. It's a good deal at 795 MSRP compared to some other companies that bundle everything into a $2K nav package.
  9. Coming from a G35 i'm used to near-instantaneous throttle response. The G had paddle shifters but never used them due to awesome auto. Obviously don't have that with the Edge Sport but I do find that I use the paddles occasionally when doing highway maneuvers such as merge/on-ramps. I find you need to work the Edge tranny a little more to prevent quick upshifts that rob that torque. They do work nicely once you get used to the concept. Wouldn't really use them for stop/go traffic.
  10. Welcome and congrats! You are now part of the majority/minority of Plat White Sport owners (clearly the best color choice for this car, but I'm biased). Agree on the tint comment... it really unifies the look. Enjoy your new ride!
  11. Had my 2011 Sport for about a month and only the same basic issues many have. BT streaming audio won't work with iPhone. Occasional minor bugs but so far my MFT is working as advertised. Hoping these fixes are resolved soon for everyone as this is a super-frustrating problem. I would put myself in the "works" category.
  12. Bboy... Any updates on this? I'm ready to buy the kit and waiting to see if there are issues. Thanks!
  13. Looking to pick this one up as well so interested in your experience. Please keep us posted!
  14. Had the same problem with mine. Dealer accidentally ordered the front plate bracket when placing order for my car, as it comes installed from factory. I was pissed too when I went to pickup the car. Dealer was like, I won't order a new grill since that's 500 bucks, but I'll order a whole Sport model and swap out the grill when it gets here in 2-3 months. If I have any paint chips or bug damage he wouldn't swap out the grill. So I asked them to remove the bracket and see what they can do. They found a couple of plugs that sit very tight in the large holes. It's not ideal, but I can live with it (plus I'm leasing so in 36 months it's gone). These pictures accentuate the caps since I captured the light hitting them. In normal conditions you really can't tell much. Doesn't detract from overall look as much as the dumb plate bracket. If I were keeping the car for 10 years I might have gone the swap-a-grill route. Someone else on the board here had the dealer order a new grill... YMMV.
  15. Have you tried un-pairing and re-pairing the phone first? Couldn't hurt. Hope it's just a small issue...
