  1. Canadians can purchase the USA sold ESP's

I've had my Edge Sport since new and in 27 Months have 50,400 Km (31,500 Miles) on it

I purchased the 5 year 75,000 Mile or 120,000 KM $50 Deductible plan from Troy Ford on their web site ( $1,140 no Tax) After exchange rate ($1,207CDN)

    .

I got an automated email from Troy Ford stating they would process my contract in 3 business days

Ed Wright FromTroy Ford sent me my contract on the Third day.

My local Canadian Dealer confirmed that my ESP was on their system about a week later

I saved over $1,800 + Taxes on this ESP by buying it from Troy Fords Website in the USA over my local Ford Dealer.

I know most of the guys and girls in my Service Dept from my Roush track days and show and shines and they told me the deal I got was at least $1200 below the dealers cost for this plan in Canada

Tmbubell, Is your bug deflector from Ford??

    Thanks

    Larry

    Yes,

This is the Ford Bug Deflector

Its been over 2 years and 31,000 miles/ 50,000 km and the deflector has held up well and I still have all 5 of those knobs stuck to the hood of the car under the deflector

  3. I have a 2012 Edge Limited in White Platinum (you know, the extra $500 paint job...) Well I have noticed that my front and back bumpers are starting to fade to a yellowish tint. The paint on the plastic bumpers is a different color then the metal sides. Anyone else have this issue?

I have attached a photo so you can see the difference.

Same Problem with my 2011 Edge Sport .

Ford has messed this up somehow - not considering the paint was going on a plastic bumper instead of metal so processes needed to be different or something

Dealer said they would repaint them to match but I have never had much luck with non factory paint holding up to driving conditions - non factory paint seems to chip a lot easier.

He also mentioned that the bumpers are not painted at the same location as the Edge Body. I have also noticed that my fuel door is doing the same thing

  4. They've gotten more of the new website up.

Looks like the update is getting closer.

Update is on the web site now

    What’s included in this update?
    DA5T-14D544-BD Gen2 - V3.6.2

The latest SYNC® update includes all of the improvements from previous updates, plus additional benefits, such as:

    • Information display on the homescreen for HD, Sirius (if equipped), and FM radio sources
    • Simplified graphics and improved usability
    • Enhanced voice destination entry for SD Card Navigation (if equipped)
    • Improved Navigation vehicle positioning (if equipped)
    • Rear view camera guidelines set to ON by default (if equipped)
    • Updated SYNC/device compatibility information

The installation of this update will take up to 30 minutes to complete. Be sure to keep your engine running, not in accessory mode, throughout the entire installation process. Turning off your vehicle during the update installation will disrupt the process. Although your vehicle must be in park when you begin the installation process, you may drive your vehicle while the update is downloading to your SYNC system. If your vehicle is equipped with the Intelligent Access with Push Button Start feature, you will need to temporarily disable the Automatic Engine Idle Shutdown (AEIS) component before beginning the installation in order to prevent your vehicle from timing out and shutting off the engine before the software update is complete. To disable this feature, use your steering wheel controls to navigate to the Settings menu on your left-hand Instrument Cluster LCD display. From there, select Vehicle >Auto Engine Off >Off. (If you do not see this setting, there is no need to make any changes before starting the update.) Alternatively, after initiating the installation, you may drive the vehicle during the update process to avoid the engine shutting off. The AEIS will automatically reset to "On" the next time you start your vehicle.

Please note: During the update installation, SYNC will temporarily appear to not recognize your mobile phone or media device. This is normal.

When your system has been successfully updated, SYNC will display a notification saying, "Installation complete."

  5. I was having a similar issue with my 2011 Sport pulsating when braking (25,000 Miles / 40,000 Km)

After i first felt the pulse it took me 2 weeks to get to the dealer and have it checked out

    Here is what they found

    Measure rotor run out -

    Front has .006-.008 Runout

    Machine front brake rotors

Measurement before was 28.15 MM - RT Side - After 27.70 mm

Measurement before was 28.05 MM - LF Side - After 27.75 mm

    Rear brakes are good

I have the FMPP maintenance plan so all was covered

Service advisor said this is a known issue

  6. Question

I had the trim piece that the camera mounts behind replaced.

The camera now has a little play/wiggle to it when cleaning

I can't remember if that is normal or if it was solid before and didn't move when cleaning

Is your camera solid or have a little play?

    Thanks

I have the FMPP maintenance plan so all was covered for free, it was also a good time to get the 22" all-seasons back on the Edge and put the 17" winters into storage

  8. I was told the dealerships have the new A4 nav cards in stock. I called my local dealer and they do. I've scheduled the update for Friday. Hoping this adds the "notification" area on my phone under Bluetooth cause I can't get it to appear now before the update. When I talked to ford they said that the iPhone at this time is not compatible for text messaging. Here's hoping they are wrong and the update helps

I have it working on my iphone 4

    It receives messages only ,

    I'm on the Telus network

  9. Where does one even find the update to 3.5.1 anyhow? All I see when I go to the update page is that I have logged the successful update of 3.2.2 and there is no place for me to click on downloading a newer version. I've updated before but it seems now I'm missing something. Anyone know how to help me out here?

I was at the dealer getting new wiper blades (part of service package) and the service manager asked if I wanted 3.5.1 and the new A4 NAV card installed.

  10. any opinions on the price?

I have the same Edge Sport that i bought brand new in May 2011 - $46000 + taxes from the Lower Mainland, British Columbia

Wow, that means my Edge Sport has lost $21,000 in 18 Months of ownership.

Check the Vin # with ICBC and make sure nothing happened to it, also ask if it was a rental company return

Other than that it looks like you are getting a really good deal.

  11. I have a 13 SEL that has 20" Scorpion all seasons. I'm not sure what seasons they are referring to but after sliding around all day in the first snowfall of the season, I'll label them as 3 season lol.

I have never owned snow tires so I am wondering what the preference is for size? From the forum, 17's seem popular. Is it price? Performance?

Here is what I did last year:

    Posted 19 November 2011 - 04:35 AM

I went with 235/65/17 BFgoodrich Slalom KSI

    (4) Black Steel Wheels

    (4) 235/65/17 BFgoodrich Slalom KSI

    (4) TPMS

Brand New Set up: installed, mounted, balanced , Taxes, enviro fees, OTD $ 1,194 Canadian (- Minus $50 BFgoodrich mail in, dealer 100 bonus air miles) Total OTD Cost $ $1,144

The dealer reprogrammed my edge sport awd to the new size so the speedo is accurate

Fitment is good and no clearance issues

The only difference i felt in the braking and handling was it seemed a bit easier to turn the steering wheel, less resistance

    Update

Gas mileage and acceleration has improved with the smaller tire

The idea is the smaller the tire the better it cuts through the snow

  12. My '12 Edge Limited has 20 in wheels and tires Winter is almost here and I want winter tires as I live close to the mountains and we do get some heavy snow here in Lethbridge. There are no 20 in steel wheels available. Tires have few choices. Fords winter pkg is 17" I want 18" wheels and tires no problem. How is the change from 20 to 18 going to affect my speedo etc. are there any changes to be made to the computer and if so I suppose only Ford can do it. Any suggestion or advice????

  13. Hi,

I have a quick question - I own a 2013 Ford Edge Sport AWD (with 22s) and I need to get winter tires for this coming cold Winer season here in Canada.

Buying 22 inch winter tires are super expensive, so I've got a lead on a new set of Blizzak tires (245/45 R20) on seperate rims. They reportedly came off a Taurus SHO.

The wheels (rims) are 8.5" wide with a '114.3 x 5' bolt pattern.

Will these fit my Edge? Are there any issues I should worry about with the different in rims/tires?

    Your help us appreciated!

Check out this thread for what others have done

  14. Not to change the subject matter but tmbubell how long ago did you get the sirius radio subscription?

I got it with my 2003 Steeda Focus in 2005 for $499 (I Think) , Sirius transferred it to my 2007 Roush Mustang for free in 2007 and then transferred it to the Edge for $75 in 2011.

  15. COZ:

I downloaded the update to an 8GB drive and plugged it into the USB drive in my car and nothing happens.

Tried the other USB drive, Same thing.

Tried having the flash drive plugged in before starting the car and also while the car is running.

All I get is a response on the 8" screen that it sees a drive in the USB port.

    But nothing happens.

    This is frustrating.

    Try

    Start the vehicle

    plug the usb in

goto to maintenance screen (Gears bottom right of home button)

    goto settings

    in setting go to system

Scroll down to : install application

then click on install software application

from here in about 5 min the screen will change to installing update

    then the system will reboot

then microsoft sync page will come up saying 20 min to install

    system will reboot

    radio will start playing

install complete will come up - press ok

    system will perform Maintenance

Then Done - Approx 30 min total with the vehicle running the whole time

This is how my update went

  16. I downloaded the update onto my USB device from syncmyride site - took 2 Min

    Update took approx: 30 Min

Had to repair my phone after install

It added the temp back onto the 8" screen :hyper:

Kept all my radio stations in right order

    Kept all my Nav Favourites

    So far so good,

Only real difference noticed besides temp is on start up the screen is black for about 3-4 seconds before the home page comes up.

  17. I have a 2011 Sport

I had a similar intermittent rattle coming from the back.

Spare tire hold down had come loose, tightened it up, no more rattle.

I also had a rattle from the vista roof, it didn't seat just right one time and during the rainy season the roof can stay closed for weeks.

rattle was there until i opened the roof and it went away, Closed the roof and it seated properly, no more rattle

  18. I was also wondering about this.

When the Edge was brand new, I didn't notice it as much, now that it a year old the bumper seems to be a creamer white ?

Hmm i guess it was always a little off

The other trim pieces haven't discoloured or change colour, just the front and rear bumpers.

    Protectionpackageerrors010.jpg

I have noticed this on some other Edges and MKX's which have the tri-white.

Edge is due for its spring Detail, so I will see if this helps, if not I will ask the dealer whats going on.
