Quick Question, With push button start, how do you put the car in accessory mode after turning it off? For example, whenever I get gas I put the car in accessory mode so my GF can still have full access to music and what not. When I shut the engine off and open the doors the sync system shuts down. Is there anyway to go straight to accessory mode?

As much as I love the look and feel of my new 2011 Edge, I have to say I've had it with this car. I cant even use the MFT system. All I get is a black screen every time I start the car. Once I pull the fuse and let it sit for a few minutes, the sync system works right after that. But then it just shortly goes back to its normal self (black screen) and I get nothing, no radio, nav, or phone. Climate thank god works! I feel it is unfair for all of us having to go through this, we purchased a car and it should work as advertised. I wouldn't mind if the sync system was buggy and it actually turned on every time and I was able to use audio/nav but the fact that I get nothing is complete utter crap. I am paying all this money for a car that I cant really enjoy. Plus since I Cant even use sirius, I am pretty much letting that go to waste since I cant even use it!! A lot of headaches and frustrations right now, I called my dealer and he hasn't heard of anyone of his customers who has purchased a 2011 Edge with these problems. He is going to call me tomorrow after he speaks with the guys in service dept and let me know what I should do. I really pray that ford starts rolling this update out real soon.

Just a quick question... If I am in mid dive and take off my sealt belt should my seatbelt light come on? Because it doesnt... I did notice my GF forgot to put her seatbelt on in the passenger seat and the light was on and started beeping... Not for drivers side tho.

Same exact issue here... Hasn't failed once meaning when I start the car all I get is NOTHING just black screen. Have to reset fuse each time!!! Called my dealer and called ford but it's just a waste of time

Does anybody have an issue when you turn on ur high beams on a 2011 edge and your hear like a knock? It's really weird, it doesn't happen whil driving or maybe it does but I don't hear it. But when idle, if I turn on the high beams I get a noticeably loud knock or tap when turning them on. The noise is not content just when turning highbeams on I dont have the HID's

I just received my 2011 Edge Limited Black on Black. It is a beautiful car!! I ordered on October 9 and Received Nov. 16th! Unfortunately, having the car in my possession for just over 24hrs, I have already had to Pull the dreaded fuse #29 because my phone wasn't pairing. Also the system just rebooted while driving 2x! SYNC definitely has some issues!!

Well I received a call from my dealer yesterday (on my birthday) and he told me that my car just arrived and is ready for pickup! Awesome birthday gift! I wasn't able to pick it up yesterday due to birthday plans but I'm leaving work a little early today to pick it up. I am completely shocked I am getting it already! I ordered the car on Oct 9th and my build date was November 8th. Just over 5 weeks for the car which is not bad at all! I will post pics when I get them!

I've been thinking about getting away from apple as well BUT I am just so used to the iPhone, I have had all 4 since they day they each came out. I was thinking about making the switch to Droid but I am not that impressed. Both apple/droid have their pros/cons. DROID also does not fully work with the Sync system as well. The real question I have is with the new Windows Phone 7. I would love to know how compatible it is with MyFordTouch and if it is enabled to use every feature the MyFordTouch system has...

I dont have my Edge yet but I SHOULD be picking it up in about 2 weeks. Is the MyFordTouch system that bad? From what I am reading it is loaded with bugs. I have the iPhone 4 and I am gonna be pissed when I start seeing problems. Is the system fine for avid users? Although I am a techie and am always playing around with technology... Just sucks to be reading that so many people are having problems with this system. MyFordTouch is what really SOLD me on getting the car. When I test drove it I did notice that the response time was very slow... I am used to my iphone where it has just amazing response time. I registered on syncmyride (I have my VIN) and I noticed that SYNC GEN 2 has been installed but software version 1.3. Maybe ford updated the actual myfordtouch hardware?

Where is the best spot to mount the ballasts?

Yes that makes sense now, but u only plugged 1 side to the factory harness? And in ur first post it looks like the "to power" wires don't have a harness and are just stripped wires, how did u connect them to the oem harness? Wire taps?

The wire that says "to power" where it connects to the capacitor, where do u grab the power from. Also, where does the ballast connect to the wire harness on the car? It doesn't look like it connects to the factory harness anywhere to know when the lights turn on/off

OK, SO I was just looking at a few emails back and forth from RS and I am completely confused. I was sent a diagram on how to install the kit with the harness. I am pretty good with electrical and I dont even see in the diagram where the HID Kit connects to the main factory harness. And as far as the resistor, I dont know if they are needed but if they are, those power wires right by the bulbs, where do they connect to? If I would have to run a power line from the battery to each headlight, that is going to deter me from purchasing this kit...

Just trying to figure out the difference between all of these MF Towels. Can they be used to dry your car, apply sealant or polished? Can they be used to buff? Also can they be used with Poor Boys SW?

Do you link Ford will be coming out with something similar to the Onstar Mylink system for the myford touch based cars? The MyLink is really sweet, basically an iphone/android app to monitor everything on your car from Gas, Tire Pressure, Fuel Economy to Remote Start and door lock/unlock.

I am a complete novice to "detailing" my cars. I wouldn't even call it detailing. Mainly I just wash the car and wax it with mothers carnuba wax. I just purchased my 2011 Ford Edge and I really want to take care of it. As a detailer what products do you suggest I use to detail my car, starting from car wash soap, sealant, claybar and wax and are readily available to an online shopper? Also what tools are best used to apply each ie cloths, power buffers, etc. Another questions is in what order should each be done, Car Wash > Clay Bar > Sealant > Wax? Finally, I wont be picking up my car until very late November, each December and I want to detail it as soon as I get it. I do not have a heated garage or anywhere I can take it to be in a warmer area. What do you recommend I do in cold circumstances?

Did anybody have to install the harness with the relay due to the auto-on lamps and the bulb outage indicator?

My edge is on order and I Was just wondering what is included with the 2011 Edge Limited ambient lighting. I know the cup holders, foot wells but where else? Are the door sills and door handles/pockets illuminated?

My 2011 Ford Edge is on order and I should be receiving it the end of November / First week in December. I am looking at getting a cargo liner and floor liners. I was just wondering if anyone has experience with the WeatherTech cargo liner for the Edge and how it compares to the OEM Ford Edge Cargo Liner. Ford sells the cargo liner for $90, but on autoanything.com they have the weathertech cargo liner for $127. Just wondering if the weather tech is worth the $40 extra. Lasty, Does anybody have the weathertech floor liners and how do you like them?

I want to buy and HID kit for my 2011 edge. The new 2011 ford edge has HR2 Headlamp bulbs. I was wondering if retro-solutions makes HID's for the HR2 bulb. Is their another type of bulb that can be used in place of the HR2?
