MFT needs an overhaul not an update

They have no choice but to get this MFT working for everyone. Even to smooth out the lag as well.

This system is going in the all new Explorer and if they have the same issues.....it wont be good, it will get ugly.

Because it has not reached 30 days yet. They would rather cause total frustration than do the right thing.

You said 4 weeks...so how more days til you reach 30 days? I'm hoping you can a new one soon.

Are you serious? You think going on 4 weeks with NO FIX and vehicle (2011 FORD EDGE SEL AWD WITH DEAD SYNC) still at Dealership Service is acceptable?

If your Edge has been at the dealer for 4 weeks with no fix, why haven't they given you a new Edge or your money back?

I am picking up my 2011 Edge Limited in the morning. Does the SD card for the navigation go into the same SD slot in the center console. So far I seem to know more about this vehicle then the sales person!

Theres only 1 SD slot and thats where the Nav SD card goes.

The Edge Limited that I ordered four weeks ago is in but after reading some of the problems others are having with their new Edges should I still go thru with the purchase ?

I called ford and asked if they had any complaints with the back up camera they said no, So I said here is your first one.

My cam clarity improved dramatically after I put on the NuSheild screen protector.

I notice a lot of hesitation in the rear cam, it doesnt flow.

HESITATION...like the rest of the MyTouch system...ARE YOU HEARING THIS FORD MOTOR COMPANY!!!!

ITS 2011 WHY DOES IT TAKE 4 MINS FOR A NAV SYSTEM TO WAKE-UP. Loading???? One thing that really drives me crazy about this system.

Snow hit here in Edmonton today pretty good. My tires arrived Monday and I was planning on getting them installed today. So like I stated before, I got the 255/65R17 Blizzak DMV1 tires with 17" Alloy rims.

The camera on the blackberry is not that good. The ride is a little bouncy, but is a little quieter.

Speaking of cloud though, where's the Pandora app they demo...that will be cool when it is released (or better yet Slacker).

 

Overall, the new system is so much better than my original Edge, and the voice recognition actually works reliably and consistently.

As far as Pandora goes...no app at this time, but you can listen to it using bluetooth.

I have a 2011 Sport and i'm averaging 15.5 MPG driving back roads in NY.

You must be driving it real hard? Do you have AWD?

Driving normal 95% city I'm getting 18.5mpg.

Last fill up driving it real hard, WOT at green lights, WOT at 25, 50, & 65 mph (so much fun) I got 16.8mpg.

I'm surprised to see you getting 15.5mpg

Only once for me so far.

Ended up buying a Task Force leaf blower from Lowes. 2 speed, 235 mph blower, and only $45. Its works great, light, real good handle, and the tube is not long which makes it easy to move around.

The 2011 Explorer has the MyTouch too. I'll be intersted to see how it works in that. And if its going to be the same system, just refined sofeware.

If they screw that up in the Explorer it wont be good for Ford.

I took off the 22" wheels off my new Edge Sport and replaced them with 20" wheels. I figured the 22's are too much for my wife's daily driver. The wheels and tires are in great condition with less than 200 miles on them but I took off the TPMS.

 

I'm sure nobody wants them as of this moment but I figured I'd make this post because the wheels and tires will just be sitting in my shed indefinitely. If anyone is interested just let me know.

Did you put 20" wheels from the 2011 Limited? If so I would really like to see some pics of it. I've been wanting to see what the 20" Limited look like on a Sport.

Your windshield can most certainly be polished. If you have a local professional detailer in your area, they should have a polish made specifically made for glass. Your detailer will need this particular polish along with glass polishing pad. The difference between an older scratched windshield and a freshly polished one is incredible.

What products do you use for this? Can you order them from detailedimage?

Also, I love using RainX is the a better product that last longer?

It's been 2 months and 3000 miles with no issues. Plenty of comfort and cargo space on our 500 mile camping trip to Penn State. Averaged 23 mpg with mostly highway driving. Coming from a Mercedes I appreciate the increased mpg and lower maintenence costs. Love the Vista roof, the front LEDs, and especially the tech. I figured out my quirk with the windshield wipers. Had to turn off auto mode so that it runs intermittent speeds. Only changes I'd like to see are an actual button for the hazards and having a locking gas door.

 

How do I change the wallpaper display and have photos for my phone book contacts?

Load photos to a thumb drive then plug it in to your usb port and load to your Home screen.

When I got my 2011 Edge, the dealer told me to do the first oil change at 6 months or 8000 km. Don't we change the oil after the break-in period (1600 km) ? or no need to do that anymore for today's car ?

First oil change at 5,000 mile and every 7,500 mile (or once a year if lower) after that. Some like to do the first one at 3,000 miles.

OK have had my NuShield on for 3 days now.

CONS- it has a gloss finish. This bad! I can see the reflection of the rear right window and handle. If someone is in the Passager seat I can see their face in the screen. When I have the radio screen on and with the black background reflections are even worse.

Wasn't this sheild suppose to be a matte finish that reduce glare?

My ride was delivered a week early and I hadn't decided on claybar, so I panicked and bought a Meguairs Smooth Surface clay kit frm the local O'Reillys. I already have Menzerna Power Lock sealant and Poor Boy's Natty Blue wax that i ordered from DI. Am I going to completely screw up my brand new Tuxedo Black finish by using an off-the-shelf claybar? Has anyone had any experience with Meguairs claybar? If it makes any difference the clay is white.

I used Meguairs clay bar and it worked great on my Red Candy. The clay bar is very fine and can also be use on glass...I used it on my windsheild. It work there too.

Sport all the way. This thing is a header. I'm 37 and I have people young and old saying that my Edge is "sick" and they have this look on their face like "Damn I want one". Its pretty cool and lots of fun to drive.

I love the painted fascias, door clad, & rockers. Really changes the look. Then add the 22's and black grille. I could go on and on.

Wow, I haven't even received my MKX yet, and ALREADY it's involved in a recall? You GOTTA be kidding!!! Only 71 vehicles involved in the recall, but still, the message it sends is deplorable!!

This for '11 Edge & MKX made from July 1 to Oct. 8. you cant lock the liftgate using interior lock switch or key fob.

Starts Nov. 1 and the dealer will have the control modules updated.

Update needed...Yes...an inconvenience yes....Deplorable...NO. Every dealer has a service dept for this same reason.
