  1. Just returned from a 4000KM trip and I had serious NAV problems along the way. The system was slow, would freeze up, performed the "routine maintenance" more than once. It was just a POS. It's going into the shop for an oil change and diagnostics on the Sync tomorrow.
  2. My 2011 SEL is in for routine maintenance and to check the delay shifting into 1st at a stop right now and I just got a call that they have to order the transmission plates and install them when they arrive. A 4 hour job.
  3. I'm out of town right now but did take pictures on the weekend. Everybody has said how great the rims look. The 17's fit perfectly and with the 245/65R17's they are virtually the same size as the stock 245/60R18's. They should fit the sport no problem. So the cost breakdown was: Rims $500 TPMS - $200 Tires installed - $1124 All prices taxes in. I'll post pictures when I'm back next week.
  4. I've had the "white screen of dearth" twice in the last couple of weeks. It was not due to cold temperatures. Both times I had to shut off the car and open the door to shut down the system and then restart. The system was operating as I tested voice commands and it responded. It appears to be a video problem.
  5. I knocked this around quite a bit and finally made my choice. I have the 18's on my limited and here's what I did: 17" alloy rims from Canadian Tire - Touren TR3 - $500 tax in. TPMS from Ford - $200 tax in Blizzak DM-V1 245/60R17 - price to be determined yet
  6. So when you say "rinse" do you really mean just "rinse" i.e. don't use the coin wash soap or go through the complete coin wash cycle of rinse-soap-rinse? Thanks for your help to those of us who want to keep our "Edge" this winter.
  7. Canuk - I just picked up my 2011 Bordeaux limited and I want to treat this right. So unlike my 2002 Montana which is being hauled away tomorrow there won't be any drive through car washes. Driveway washes during the more temperate climate is okay but what about this winter? How am I going to keep it clean? Hand spray washes? I'm not sure I'm even going to get a warm enough day to properly seal the paint - which is what I see you suggest instead of waxing. So the alternative is to get it detailed? It's pretty slushy here north of Toronto so any tips would help. I did peruse the eshine site so I guess that is a better option to purchase product than Canadian Tire? Any help/hints are appreciated.
  8. Is there any reason I can't just use my shop vac in blower mode? The air output should be filtered by the canister filter so there shouldn't be any grit blowing out from it?
  9. My Edge has just arrived and winter tires will soon be required so I asked the dealer in Barrie to quote. I asked for painted aluminum rims, 17" Bridgestones DM-V1, TPMS and they came back with $2140 all in. I think I need to shop around. I'm interested in any group buy in the Toronto area
  10. They now have it for the 2011 Edge but it's tricky to find: Link to NuShield Special Size On this page select Ford and Edge 2011 is an option
  11. I've also ordered a Bordeaux Red with all black with NAV but I cannot figure out the acronym BAMR? What size wheels did you go for? I went with the stock 18". Trailer Towing Package, Drivers Entry Package, Vista Roof.
