  1. Noticed something else with the update other than temp display.

     

    I have a lifetime Sirius radio subscription and after the update all of my sync services are working and say subscribed

    weather, movies, gas etc. Never worked before in Canada

     

    Not to change the subject matter but tmbubell how long ago did you get the sirius radio subscription?

  2. Speedy Gonzales !! 12 minutes to install? Mine took 45, others talk about 30, strange. I updated from 3.02 but that shouldn't matter as I believe 3.22 is a clean install.

     

    You also mention 'no resets': did you not have to re-enter your radio channels, re-pair your phone?

     

    Took me 35 minutes and had to re-pair phone and radio

  3. Received my pretty package in the mail today. Looks so nice I think I'll keep it till Christmas and put it under the tree! Actually did the update within 50 minutes and checked everything out and even my troublesome clock is working now showing NDT instead of EDT. Mostly impressed with the navigation & maps which have caused me to say some very bad words in the past. All the streets have been updated in my area (confirmed it by using my garmin 3490) and they even have my house on the correct side of the street lol. There was one poi in particular that I had been using as a test (using voice) on the old system and could never get but on the first try with the new update worked perfectly. LG phone paired instantly and downloaded my address contacts. So with only a few hours of testing I am a happy camper. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. Having said all of that, really I only had two issues with 2.7 that being the clock and the Nav system.

  4. My roommate who is also a 2012 Ford Edge owner recieved a package today (Friday 13) from Ford (Letter is dated April 6th). Inside was a letter advising "SOFTWARE APPLICATION UPGRADE PROGRAM 11A02".

     

    The letter goes on to say that in the continuous spirit of improving Ford has authorized his dealer to install a software Performance Upgrade for the My Ford Touch System at no cost.

     

    It talks about how you can locate the dealerships and that enclosed they provided a new manual with the features and what not of the new upgrade.

     

    So I think, this is what is being sent out! Ps. It comes both in English & in French.

    Some people have received notification that they will have to go to the dealership. Most of us have been advised we will receive a flash drive for self installation and a SD card with the new maps. As far as I know no one has received that package in Canada yet.

  5. IMHO if the delay is a language issue it's a poor excuse. We have had a law for many many years requiring bilingual packaging, so I find it hard to believe that a large company like Ford would not have been prepared for this issue or use it as an excuse...so I believe it is just that a 'rumor'. :unsure:

  6. You would have thought that if they started mailing on April 2nd someone from Canada on this forum would have received a package by this date. Then again 'snail mail'?

     

    Update: Just got off the phone with Ford and they confirmed that my update had not been mailed and it would be 'several weeks' (couldn't narrow it down) before I would receive my update. They kept apologizing for the delay in mailing to Canadian customers and couldn't (or wouldn't) give a reason for the delay.

  7. Interesting how almost all topics on receiving the MFT upgrade by mail are sleeping... Seems to be true for US and Canada.. Granted not everyone receiving their update will rush to this forum to report but I would think out of more than ½ million Edge owners a few would? We're into the 6th week of mailing, supposedly (from March 5th). How long can bulk mail take?

     

    Not sure if you saw my post on April 5th regarding the mailing to individuals in Canada. I was told at that time by local management people (after a telephone call or conference call) that mailings would begin (for Canada) to individuals in aprx. 2 weeks from that date which would put it somewhere between the 15th to 20th April.

  8. My dealership in Kitchener had 2 sets delivered last week and they used them immediately. No more on the horizon for them they said.

     

    I think what my dealership meant was the mailing direct to the customer will be in 2 weeks. Then again I have about 3 different dates for mailing but I suspect what I was told today will be close to the mailing time.

  9. Nothing on the East Coast yet and I don't expect to see anything til around the middle of April. I am gonna sit tight until the package arrives in the mail. I haven't even called the dealer to see if they have received any cards.

    Update...I had to go into the dealership this afternoon to order touch up paint. Talked to a management person and she said they had a conference call this morning and was advised that the packages to individuals would start mailing in two weeks. This jives with what someone had posted earlier on this thread.

    I called it 2 days ago and she said Canadians were not getting theirs even put into the mail until later this week. I am not expecting mine now for at least 2 weeks. Thankfully I have had very few problems. AXCL, I did not entertain the option of downloading from SMR b/c I don't want to be without the Nav either. I will just wait.

     

    Thanks Richy. I suppose she didn't give any reason why Canadians are later receiving their package. I guess when Ford puts you at the rear of the plane you are always late getting your pack of peanuts or newspaper. Not expecting anything here until Mid April.

  11. I called Ford again this afternoon. After quite a lengthly delay I was advised it was in the scheduled package of units to be shipped on the 5th of March and was told that it can take several weeks to be shipped. I asked for clarification of her wording and was informed that it was shipped in the week of March 5th. after further clarification I was advised it was shipped in the week of March 5th which meant anywhere from the 5-12th of March. She then informed me that it can be up to 2 weeks to get shipped out in the week of march 5th.

     

    After learning a new political language being the week of ?, and it being defined that it can take 2 weeks to be shipped out in the week of ?, I have determined that more then likely it will be posted around 21 days after the 5th of March.

     

    Never have I seen such a run around with the exception of "Apple" who starts your warranty on the day you place your order and not the day you receive your product. As Apple informed me with the delivery of my product which will be in 3-4 weeks hypothetically this product is being built for me on the assembly line, just for me and no one else, and thus the reason for starting my warranty on this date.

     

    Funny thing was as it was now 7 days into my warranty which is on an item that will arrive in 16-23 days I informed the customer service manager that it no longer works and requested an immediate replacement. No sense of humor since Steve Jobs passed away.

     

    The long and short of this Post is that in fact the packages are shipping but for Canadians I would not expect to see your package until after the 26th of March.

  12. I think I was one of the first to receive the mailer, but I haven't received my upgrade package via mail yet. You can always download it through syncmyride.com and wait for the SD card. I don't experience any issues with my v2.8 installation so I can wait patiently.

     

    I don't believe I've seen any Canadians reporting they've received their package yet.

     

     

    I'm in the same boat as you except I have v2.7 and will wait for the mail package.
