  1. I currently have 17,500kms on my '11 sport and it has been to the dealership 4 times in less than a year. I purchased it last October and really liked it. The first 3 "visits" were related to the navigation system not working, part of the radio stations didn't show up, phones would not connect for handsfree use, etc. The most recent "visit" to the dealership was a transmission issue. After the vehicle was warmed up and had been driving for 15 minutes at different speeds, hit the fan. I was going up a small incline hill and the vehicle upshifted from a lower gear (automatic mode) and a loud thud. It felt like i ran over top of something big in the middle of the road. I have owned over a dozen vehicles and have never experienced anything close to this. It lunged the vehicle forward and I didn't know what to think. I drove it to the dealership, no other noise or issues and told them. One salesman said this is a common problem in the new ford trucks with 6 speed transmissions. If this is a common problem, my Edge is for sale tonight. After looking at the vehicle, the problem they proclaim was a internal seal on the PTU. They replaced it, test drove the vehicle and cleared it. Well, on the way home from picking it up it made another clunky shift when it downshifted after a corner. That took a total of 5 minutes to have it happen again. Will keep everyone posted... GRRRRRRRR
  2. I have had my retro solutions kit installed for 9 months now and only had one issue. The fuse wiggled itself loose and i had to push it down to make contact. I have never had them fail on start up. Used a different supplier on my other vehicle and had nothing but trouble. Defiantely recommend the "edge" wiring kit that retro solutions recommends. Great light output with the 35W kit.
  3. I just installed a 2" Curt hitch on my '11 Sport. It took 1.5hrs from start to finish. I had to cut 2 tabs of the heat shields and drill 2 holes in the frame. Very simple install. I didn't cut the lower spoiler as I just pushed it up a little. It didn't wrinkle the bumper or spoiler. I was surprised on how easy it was to install. Towing capacity is down to 2000lbs, but what do you expect with 22's on a crossover. Curt hitch makes a great hitch and it fits with little to no trouble.
  4. I currently get 17 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway at 80mph, consistently. You may think that I am full of but I have been tracking mpg's for the last 14 years of me driving as well as my father at every fill up. In regards to the K&N, did it increase cab noise with the added air flow? Was it tricky to install?
  5. For some reason it won't let me up load my pics. They won't transfer into my profile or onto a thread. I have upload lot's of pictures before and some reason this won't let me. As you can see on my last post, nothing appreared. Weird....
  6. I matched the front tint to the factory tint that was installed in the rear windows. I believe it is 30%. I have had front tinted windows on vehicles over the last 14 years and it helps to keep your vehicle cooler. Not to mention helps protect your interior from fading and cracking over time. Plus it looks good.
  7. My retrosolutions kit in my '11 has zero scatter. I am extremely happy with the lights as there has been no start up issues at all. Will post pics of my 35W 6000K ASAP.
  8. You can use either a HIR2 or a 9012 bulb. I installed a modified 9006 buld in my '11 sport when i went to HID. The kit was from Retrosolutions. Highly recommended if you have that model year.
  9. I just installed my Retro-Solutions kit last night and it all seems to be working good. I have DRL's and the lights set to "auto on" and there has been no issues. It has only been a minimal amount of time for a trial period but they seem to work. I ordered the 9012 35W 6000K with the edge specific kit. I live in Canada and the kit took 7 business days to arrive, even during the holidays. The kit is simple to install. Total time was 45 minutes which included a quick drive to see how they look. I am not an electrician or a computer guy by any means and it was quick and painless. I will keep posting updates to see if there are any issues. Highly recommended as of date....
  10. Has anyone swithced there Sport's interior/exterior lights to LED's? I see that alot of people that have done this in the past. Sylvania's web page does not produce the 2011 model as of yet. Any input???
  11. I just ordered my kit for my '11 sport 2 days ago. I will take pics and note the installation process. I'm hoping things go well...
  12. The tires actually work real good on snow and ice. The AWD and the 22's are a great combination. I live in an area that is constantly snowing and chinooking all in the same week. We get a snow and ice mixture constantly here. My wife uses this vehicle daily and she is more than happy to drive this opposed to my 09 chevy silveardo 4X4 in the winter.
  13. Ford told me that they have experienced this problem before. There engineering department is still trying to figure it out as they do not have an answer as to why this is happening. It is only happening on certain vehicles and not all. Not really impressed.... But liking the sport more everyday
  14. I just picked up my 2011 Sport and I am having trouble with my Cross traffic alert as well as my blind spot indicator. Both sensors come up "blocked" while I am driving down a road when there is no one around me. I have to manually turn the settings to off as it is getting annoying. I am not impressed as I just picked it up on Oct 29 and we put on 200kms. Has anyone else had this same issue???
