  1. Thanks for the info. I did have it replaced by my ford dealer under warranty (the wiper blade fell apart and scratched up the glass) and I hadn't mentioned the issue earlier, so I should be in good shape. I didn't mention the sound to Ford earlier because it was one of those things that didn't happen all the time. I didn't want to get there and look like a winer. Now that the sound is obvious and consistent, I think it will be easy to make the case. I've heard from the dealer that the Edge is a "noisy" car to begin with, so I just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this sound (crack/rattle). Thanks!
  2. I've had my Edge for over a year now and from day-1 I have always noticed a slight crackle sound from my windshield when driving over bumps. It was annoying but I decided to deal with it. Last week I had to get my windshield replaced for other reasons. I was hoping this would fix the sound, but it's actually more obvious than before. Maybe the seal is bad? But could I have two bad seals in a row? It was done at a dealership in below freezing temperatures. Has anyone else noticed these sounds? Thanks!
  3. I read up a bunch about all-weather (rubber) floor mats on this forum. Now that there's a new slew of 2008 owners on here I was curious as to what mats you'd all be purchasing to protect ur Edge from the upcoming winter season. I am tossed up between the Ford branded mats for the front and back seats and the weathertech liners. Can anybody offer differences between the two besides the price? (weathertech costs more) I will be purchasing the weathertech liner for the trunk/cargo floor because I've heard good things and Ford doesn't offer a mat through them. Thanks!
  4. I'm buying my 2008 Edge. Do you recommend the extended warranty for $1,700 (100,000 miles/ 5yrs)? How about the $250 warranty for the wheels and rims for 5 years? I don't plan on going off-roading at all, but you never know. I'll probably have this car for 6 years. What r u all doing?
  5. I went to see my 2008 today and commit to a payment. The incentive is indeed $500 cash back on the new Edge. The Sync, little of what I played with today, was very nice. And I'm extremely glad I went with the 20" wheels.
  6. My dealer just called me today, my 2008 is ready to be picked up! I was actually surprised it came this early. A lot of people on here ordered 2008's before me and have longer estimates. I am in the Detroit area at a mainstream dealership though. I wonder if certain dealerships get priority over others for orders.
  7. Well I didn't have to put anything down for the order. Maybe because of my A/Z plan, I don't know. My A/Z plan quote for that build is $33,770.30.
  8. I have had my 08' Edge ordered for a month. I opted to wait due to the new Sync option. How long will it be until we can expect dealers to begin filling their lots with the 2008's? My specs: 2008 Ford Edge AWD Limited Black exterior with Black leather interior GPS Nav/ Sync/ Sirius/ Audiophile/ 6 Disc Vista Roof 20" Clad Chrome Premium Wheels Cargo Management System I wouldn't have gotten the GPS Nav system if it wasn't for how much more intuitive it works with the Ford Sync system. I'm excited to see the new chrome belt-line on my black exterior.
