  1. How long have you been running them? Did you modify your wiring at all? My only concern is the wrecking the wiring....Does anyone even know if thats possible?
  2. I am considering going to H9's. Who has done this personally? I noticed the draw is +10 volts of the std H11's currently in our '07 Edge. Will/does the wiring support the change? Thanks.
  3. Madd, thanks for chiming in and helping clear some things up. I confirmed all the right moves via a call to Todd today. Just drove back from my dads place...it was dusk and I was loving the look of these lights.
  4. Thanks, madd for the diagram. So am I right to assume that since I'm using the relay, and the relay plugs into the ballasts, you don't need all the cables coming off the back of the HID bulb (as I show in pic)? *Oh, and I have a 55W from RS....
  5. About to install RS kit in our 07 Edge...fairly certain I have most of wiring understood aside from this....the 2 prongs in picture. Do they go somewhere or just kinda hangout? Also, is my labeling of ground/capacitor correct?
  6. This thread is very informative. Thank you to those that have contributed to it, giving us all the information you've learned/found along the way. I have not read the entire thread from start to finish, but am pretty sure I have clicked on each page at one point or another. That being said, I just wanted to share photos of the swap on my front interior (map/dome lights). Items I used in this swap: - WLED Miniature Wedge Base bulbs with High Power SMD LEDs - 360 type (2) -plastic interior pry tool -15 minutes Here is a comparison photo I took to show the dramatic difference: For the front you will need 2 - wedge LEDs. If you have research even a small amount, you will quickly learn there are tons and tons of variations and sellers of these. I purchased these from superbrightleds.com (fast shipping, great service, great product): I read that some people have done the swapping of the bulbs leaving the housing in their vehicle, but given how easy it is to remove the entire housing I prefer to just remove it. Then you can take it inside and swap the bulbs w/o doing the entire swap working over your head and risk breaking a bulb while using a pliers to pull the old bulbs out. Once you have the housing pulled out, you will see there is only 1 electrical connection to remove. Then you can take the entire housing in your home, or over to a table to work on it: Flip housing over to begin removeing plastic lens by starting on the sides: Then move to the 2 pegs on the front of the plastic lens: Then remove the reflective aluminum housing around the bulbs so you can simply pull old bulbs out w/your fingers: Swap out incandescent bulb w/LED *In this photo I have left the aluminum housing out to make the bulb position easier to see in the picture. Do this with one bulb, then plug the housing in and open your door to confirm the LED illuminates. If it does not, flip bulb around and try again. The aluminum housing needs to be put back in BEFORE you put LEDs in for last time, because the top of the LEDs will not fit through the whole for the old bulbs. Also, just push LED in until you feel it being "snug" in the slot: That's it...pretty much just do the steps backwards and enjoy the new lights! I purchased the festoon bulbs for the rear interior bulbs and may do a brief write-up on that, too.
  7. I have two pair of HID lamps from my 2008. Let me know if youre interested. One is used but still perfect, and the other is brand new.

  8. I have two sets of hids that will fit your truck. Bought and used one set, kept the second as a backup or in case I wanted to install in the dogs. Pm me if your interested. They're 35w 5000 whites.

  9. Any update on this issue? I'm having same problem with wifes 07 SEL and it drives me crazy. I don't wanna replace the door speakers, just to find out the head unit is actually cutting the bass out. And I don't wanna replace head unit cuz we like the controls on the steering wheel and can't imagine an aftermarket head unit keeps this functionality in place.
  10. Well, my buddy says he hasn't heard of any issue w/bass cutting out. Has anyone figured this one out? Clearly its a problem, so I would assume there's an answer somewhere....
  11. Since the LED is more sensitive to voltage, it has that slight illumination where an incandescent bulb would not begin to light up. I'm told the best way to avoid this is to make sure any LED has a resistor built in...most wedge LEDs do not have resistors (maybe none of them do, no expert personally). At least this is the knowledge I gained when converting interior of my Passat to LEDs.
  12. Thank you both for the reply! Still on the fence with this decision....
