  1. What has Ford done the last 6 months that would make anyone think that they're not trying to fix everything? Obviously they haven't been as successful as we'd like but I don't see how anyone could fault the effort.

In business a company is judged by results not efforts although I share the view that Ford is coming up short on both counts. Many of us are long term Ford customers and truly want the car experience that was sold to us but with MFT Ford marketing has written a cheque that the rest of the organization has been unable to deliver on.

  2. iF YOU CLICK ON MY gALLERY, YOU CAN SEE ALL MY PICS AND MY ALBUM.

i DON'T KNOW HOW TO POST THE PICS YET.

Looks great! You can link to pictures in your own galley using the little insert image icon in the post message box header. Just get the address of the picture in your gallery by right clicking on the imageselecting properties and the coping the address. You then paste this address into the insert image dialog box.

  3. That would be every weekend, sometimes twice the week, but not very far 30-40 km one way

I forgot to mention that I am in Canada, so the price difference is 5000 plus 500 for the towing package

Your post prompted me to check Ford's website and the list price difference between the base SE & the base SEL with tow package is $6,500 or close to $7,400 with taxes.

There are a couple of other considerations.

    - at 1900 lbs you are at a little over half of the tow capacity of the vehicle

    - boats tend to more aerodynamic than a lot of other trailers

    - the tow package would have been designed so that you can safely tow in all seasons in North America. We don't see the same high temperatures in Canada that you would see in the southern US.

    - a transmission cooler should be relatively inexpensive to add if you are concerned about the temps where you live.

  4. I have a similar high pitched sound that I can hear outside the vehicle when idling. It's on my list to ask the dealer about when/if i have to take it in for something else. After 3 weeks, apart from the MFT system rebooting a few times and a growing frustration with the voice recognition i still haven't seen any issues serious enough to take it into the dealership

  5. if touched just right (hard to find the right spot on purpose) it switches your source (radio, cd, usb...) or pulls up your sound options on the screen (to change your treble, bass...). I only seem to get it on accident so can't completely say where to touch.

If I remember correctly you have to touch above where you would think to touch. Touching on the word has little effect.

  6. I went for it. In Canada the FMPP includes brake pads & rotors which I have had to do on almost every vehicle I ever owned. In my mind the really interesting option is the FMPP+ option as it includes the top extended warranty plan with a $0 deductible. With all of the electronics on these vehicles I was twitchy about the unexpected costs after the 3 year warranty ends.

  7. Funny how you see all these great ads, salesmen talk and websites filled with all the flashy sync apps.

Then after you actually buy the vehicle you find out the sync add on's like weather, movies, stocks, are not available in Canada.

I am right or am I just missing something?

Just part of being Canadian, paying more and getting less.

  8. Question may already have been asked. Today I bought a SEL with Ford My Touch (full screen). It has the port for Nav SD. Can I just buy a SD card, slide it in, and it will work. Everything is so new, salesman had no idea???

Maybe someday Ford will offer this to non-Nav owners as a paid upgrade but right now only the units with Nav from the factory can use the Nav SD card. For everyone else it another media slot for FMT.

  9. Hi all,

New to the forum but not to Fords. I'm finding this and the other blue oval forums a wealth of information as I wait for the Edge to get built.

We went with the red candy/light stone and almost all the toys. I skipped the vista roof because their wasn't enough headroom for me and also passed on 20" rims & backlit door sills. Apart from that it is loaded!

Well my wait is finally over. :happy feet: I got the call yesterday morning that it had arrived overnight and I picked it up yesterday afternoon.

1st impressions are all good after 100 kms. Pics to follow once the weather clears and it gets a bath.

  10. Ordered my 2011 Ford Edge Sport in mid November with a Jan 24 estimated delivery. Not here yet!

Got my VIN a while back, but salesman not being responsive on getting me an update on when (new estimate) on delivery date. Any help?

I tried the labels lookup but get "server not responding" error message.

Got the sticker, but the only dates showing are today?

I have heard that the sticker is generally only available about 1 week before actual production. there are 2 dates on the sticker, just above the one that always reads "today's" date is another one which is the "actual" date the sticker was produced. I would guess that your Edge will at least be in production by this time next week.

You can also apparently track the progress by registering your VIN on syncmyride to see when sync is loaded. They load the latest version of sync on the b=vehicle as it rolls down the line.

and yes, salesmen can lose interest once they have the deal.

  11. Like my title asks, why can't I post replies from my ipad? Does anyone use their ipad to read and respond to the forums? Did you ever experience this problem? I can type in searches, just can't get a cursor to pop up in the post reply box.

    posted from my Droid incredible.

You have to disable the visual editor option under "My Settings" on the forum. I had the same issue at 1st.

  12. There is a link in blueovalnews.com. Go to message forums at the top of the page then to the vehicle locator section. Have your VIN. If you don't have that then get your dealer ID and order number. Read some of the posts and follow the instructions to the letter. The person who helps you seems like he really cares. You will get a response overnight. Good luck.

If you add your VIN to the end of the string below and paste it into your browser you will get your window sticker if you are close enough to your production date. If not close enough you won't.

there are 2 dates on the sticker, the one near the top is generally 7 days before the vehicle starts assembly. The one near the bottom is today's date. How long it takes to be completed and shipping times to your dealership can vary.

I'm about a 6 hour drive from the plant and have been told by that my vehicle is scheduled to be built Feb 8 while the dealership has told me to expect delivery the week of Feb 14th. Your mileage may vary.

    Hope this helps.
