  1. Thanks to all for the suggestions. I think I’ll start with the local salvage yards now that I know it will just pop in.
  2. So when I was researching the Edge online I saw that there was a storage box to the left of the steering wheel. Now that I've got it home I see that they must have stopped including it in Canadian models for 2018. Looking on-line it looks like the part I need to order is FK7Z-5813546-AB that runs about $130. My question is, will this part just drop into the hole where the filler panel is or do I need to order additional parts? Th only picture I've found online isn't very clear so I'm hoping that someone can take a few pictures and post them for me. Thanks in advance. Here's what I've got and I found this one online but i can't see how its mounted
  3. I just went through this decision process and after driving the 2.0EB, the 3.5NA & the 2.7EB I went with the 3.5NA. Power was adequate with the 2.0EB & 3.5NA for my driving, the 2.7EB was peppier and more fun but I found the 2.0EB too buzzy and the the 2.7EB too growly. I wanted something that would work for both city and lots of long distance highway.
  4. After a few years of not looking after my chrome clad wheels they looked horrible. I tried different options to get the built up brake dust off but nothing worked. I came across a suggestion on line that I thought was worth sharing here, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It took about 30 minutes per wheel and I went through 5 erasers but the results were amazing. They were gentle on the wheels but took off the most stubborn build up. The picture below shows the worst wheel before I finished cleaning it

  6. This happened to my bride earlier today. Car unlocked normally (key was in her purse as usual) but then told her there was no key present when she tried starting it. She fished the key out of her purse and tried again with no joy. As a last resort she hit the lock and unlock buttons on the fob and tried again at which point the car started normally. Hope this procedure helps someone else out of a bind.
  7. This happened to me and the dealer replaced the multi switch at the base of the stalk. I found that if you hold the stalk in the opposite direction they cancel out so it stops. I tied my in place with some jute which allowed me to signal in the stuck direction by stressing against the jute but after releasing the jute would hold it back in the opposite direction. It looked pretty ghetto but worked until I could get it fixed. Driving on the highway with the turn indicator going continuously was really annoying and appeared to confuse some of the other drivers.
  8. It was done at the dealership and I can't remember if I did a master reset at the time so I've done another one today although I'm not convinced it worked as I only lost my phone pairing and none of the radio or Sirius presets.
  9. After upgrading to 3.5.1 the rearview camera has shown me an inverted image on 2-3 separate occasions. Has anyone else seen this?
  10. I'm also having turn signal issues. I put my left turn signal on at the mall and it won't go off and I can't signal a right turn either. The only way I can get it to stop is to hold the turn stalk to try indicate a right turn and then it stops flashing left and won't flash right. I'm getting tired of this vehicle. After 22 months and coming up on 24,000 miles (40,000 kms) I've already had it back to the dealer for 4-ways that stuck on, MFT issues, lousy voice recognition, blind spot sensor errors & wipers that turn on when it's sunny and barely sweep in the rain. I've got the extended warranty but can't see hanging on to this vehicle for a day longer than the warranty.
  11. I was thinking it was likely that the cluster display rounds up or down while the centre display looks like it is truncating so that a temp of 33.6 displays as 34 in the cluster and as 33 on the touch screen. Sorry but it's my inner geek leaking out.
  12. I guess I was so agitated when I posted that I didn't express myself clearly enough. I'm on 3.0.2 but my flasher problem got sorted out with the 2.11 update. These ongoing MFT problems remain a disgrace. I don't even want to think about the hit we are all going take come trade-in time. If Ford doesn't cough up some sort of compensation then they deserve a major class action suit.
  13. I've had all of the common flasher issues but today's events pushed me over the edge (no pun intended) Since day 1, I had issues accidentally triggering them. I tried to avoid the flasher button when using the touch screen and thought I was getting good at it until the day I tried to turn the flashers on and they wouldn't come on. Tried pulling fuse 29 and master reset with no success. I upgraded to 2.11 and they magically started working again albeit still very sensitive. The performance update seemed to improve things as it appeared to decrease the sensitivity, but the problems remain. Today I pull up in a no parking zone to unload some boxes and I turn on the flashers. They didn't respond to the 1st couple of touches but on the 3rd attempt they came on. I finished unloading the boxes and this is where the fun begins as the flashers won't turn off. I tried everything, short touches, long touches, master resets, pulling fuse 29, disconnecting the battery, all to no avail. Cycling through all of these for several hours the button finally responded after probably my thousandth touch. I'm now at the point where we are afraid to drive the vehicle in case the flashers get stuck on or are not available if we need them. This is unacceptable for a new vehicle. We'll see what the dealer can do this week as we are heading off on vacation soon.
  14. in my package the cardboard folder was English/French but there were 3 inserts tucked into a pocket; How to install, EULA & User Guide, that were English only.
  15. Received today in rural Ontario just outside of Ottawa.
  16. Just remember that it is your right to have it fixed where you (or the lessor) want it fixed and you don't need to let the insurance company bully you into their shop (which probably costs them less) if you are concerned about cheap parts. In the end, now that you have made the claim, it won't make any difference to your rates if it costs them $5k or $20k for the repairs. Hope it all works out for you. Merry Christmas to everyone!
  17. Ours was undrivable after the accident with coolant all over the ground so it's clear we hit harder. It was taken to Campbell's and in the end the insurance covered the purchase price of the vehicle (less deductible) because it was less than 2 years old, rental, & towing. Our insurance rates didn't go up as we had 5* protection with Pilot that allowed for a "free" accident without driving rates through the roof.
