  1. Update on Daytime Running Lights - I went to the dealership where I bought my 2010 Edge and asked them about activating the DRL's. After about 45 min, they said they couldn't do it. So, I went back and did some research online and e-mailed the service manager the following (taken from other online DRL threads) : I was in today getting my Edge serviced and talked to you about getting the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL's) activited. I found a discussion thread that might help in the Ford Edge Forum: Daytime Running Lamp Activation: Q: I would like to do this. Are you saying that it is a simple software switch and all the hardware is already installed at the factory? A: Yes, it is a simple programming change to enable/disable the DRL's. The Dealer does it through the Exterior Lighting menu in the diagnostic system / Smart Junction Box (SJB). Q: Can we do it ourselves? A: Only the dealer can do it through the SJB - instructions are in the dealer service manual. Q: Cost? A: Cost will vary according to Dealer. Most will do it for free if you purchased there. Others I have heard charge up to 1/2 hour labor/diagnostic time. It is a 15-20 minute job at most. It sounds like it can be done. I appreciate you checking to see if you guys can do it. Let me know. Thanks, xxx After sending him that e-mail, he responded that he checked with his supervisor and they couldn't do it. So, I took my Edge to another local Ford dealer. I explained the situation that I was looking for someone to activate my DRL's for me and would probably be looking for a new dealership to do future service & maintenance. I also gave them a copy of the above e-mail and he said he'd see what he could do. I was sitting in the lobby of the dealership for literally about 5 minutes when the service advisor came back and handed me my keys and told me that it was all taken care of. The DRL's would come on when I put it in Drive. There was no charge for the service. Now my DRL's are working great! I keep the headlight switch on the "Automatic" setting with the fog lamps pulled on. When I put it in Drive, the headlights come on at a lower light level along with the parking lights. When the headlamps sense that it's getting dark or rainy, the headlamps go to full brightness and the fog lights turn on, just like they used to. When I turn off the car, everything turns off automatically. The new dealership I took it to will be getting my business in the future.
  2. Guerro, here are some larger photos.
  3. From Wikipedia: The three-letter acronym IMO may refer to: International Mathematical Olympiad International Maritime Organization IMO ship identification number, unique identity numbers issued to seacraft (pattern "1234567") International Meteorological Organization Icelandic Meteorological Office International Meteor Organization Idiopathic Massive Osteolysis, a name for Gorham's disease Independent Market Operator of Ontario, CanadaIrish Medical Organisation, the main organisation for Doctors in the Republic of Ireland Intelligent Medical Objects, Inc. The registered trademark holder of IMO From the Urban Dictionary: IMO - Abbreviation for "In My Opinion." Use if you want to weaken your argument significantly. IMO - Stands for "In My Opinion". The term is brutally destroyed over and over again on many message boards. IMO - Stands for "In My Opinion". The most insecure way to state your opinion. Used by those afraid to get into a big argument with someone who disagrees with them. “Using IMO makes you a pansy of the internet message boards.” Maybe you ought to think about using a different slang abbreviation, or actually typing it out.
  4. Ah. Thanks for clearing that up. I just wasn't sure what IMO meant (that's the brand of Sour Cream my wife buys).
  5. Guerro - I'll try & upload some larger files tomorrow if I can but that is the size the site would let me upload (150 pixels or something like that). L!TECH - If I had any idea of what you are talking about, I guess I might be offended. But since I don't, I guess I'm not.
  6. I had seen a picture online of one when I was thinking about it and really liked it. I agree, I think it really brings out the chrome grill. Ford_Fan, if you decide to get one, don't follow the instructions that say to take off the lower air dam. Just cut slits in it so that you can maintain the overall look of your front end. Also, I drove my front end up on ramps to install it. Made it A LOT easier so I could get underneath easily.
  7. I added a chrome Bull Bar to the front of my 2010 Edge over the weekend. This is an Aries ARS3502 Bull Bar that I got online for about $200. It came complete with all mounting hardware and installation instruction and took about 1-1/2 hours to install. It was VERY easy to install. The installation instructions said to remove the lower air dam but I wanted it on still so I left it on and just used a hacksaw to cut two small slits in the plastic where the mounting brackets went through.

  9. Cool. Thanks. I'll ask them about it on my next service at the end of this month.
  10. I live in Utah. I have a 2010 Edge. I sold my 2008 Legacy to get it. I have had 2 Subaru Legacy's in the past. Both of those Legacy's did AMAZING in the snow. So far my Edge has done pretty well but it really hasn't been tested in the snow as much this year like I did with my Legacy's. I went with the Edge based on looks and options for the rest of the year rather than handling during the couple of snow storms that I get caught in. You definitely can't go wrong with a Subaru for handling, of that I'm convinced. Some of the newer models look better than others. The Outback and Forester aren't too inspiring.
  11. I noticed that same thing with losing grip in turns and was wondering if it is the tires and the acceleration is just "overdriving" the tires. I've owned 2 Subarus in the past that seemed to be MUCH better in the snow than my 2010 Edge (but only half as good looking! :shades: )
  12. I have a 2010 and I haven't been able to find anywhere that shows how to program them to turn on. I want them on. Any suggestions?
