My '08 Edge Limited AWD does shift with a bang sometimes. I've narrowed it down to when it's cold, and I pull ahead slowly, let off the gas, and then give it some gas, like entering an intersection to make a left, pausing and then accelerating. It has probably done it 20 times in 90,000 kms. Of course, it won't do it for the dealer. I'm just hoping it is a quirk, and not something serious. It's never gotten worse or increased in frequency, so fingers crossed....

I live in Ontario, and the Edge AWD is the best vehicle I've ever driven in the snow. I've not yet come even close to getting stuck or having an incident. I am running the stock all-season tires, and though I think snow tires are a good idea, I can't justify it when my Edge with 90,000 kms on the tires seems unstoppable. Now, if I could just get all of those other people off the road....
