hey guys, this is the exact thread i'm looking for as well. also waivering between titanium and sport on 2016. i also leaning on sport, love the look and engine. i got two questions though.
i am musician so cargo space is great, but if i need to tow, is there a reason you cant get the class II trailer hitch on the more powerful sport? seems weird since its the strongest engine. is it only cause of rear bumper?
2nd, i am huge tech nerd, so is there anything lacking on a fully loaded sport that would be on the titanium? just trying to see if going sport i lose anything tech-wise.

The Edge Sport is rated at 2000 lbs towing capacity which is Class I. There is a trailer hitch designed for the Edge Sport available from Curt with part number 13234.
http://www.curtmfg.com/part/13234
Or from Draw-Tite with part number 75234.
http://www.drawtite.com/dt75234.html
These hitches are rated as Class III but the Edge Sport is rated as Class I. I believe the Curt fits without trimming the bumper or rear valence but I'm not sure about the Draw-Tite.
There are some pictures here:

A fully loaded Edge Sport will have all of the features of a fully loaded Edge Titanium plus 2.7 L twin turbo engine, sport suspension, different exterior, and different interior.

I watched and 'liked' the video. About a month ago I put the exact same battery in my 2011 Edge. It's a fantastic battery. My Edge sat outside for two days at -30 Celsius and started without any issue or difficulty cranking

Ebay, looked nothing like what they sold me
Does it seem like a decent quality? I'm concerned it wouldn't stand up well to winter salt and calcium...

Here's a tail light bar for sale:

Note that's it's not mine and I cannot vouch for the seller.

Twin turbo/ boost - installed
Very nice. Mind if I ask where you got it from?

For some reason mine stopped doing the horn honk when I leave it running. It is kind of annoying but it's a safety feature. Too many old people forgetting to turn off their cars while parked in the garage and dying from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Today I confirmed with Jason from fordpimods that his technique for disabling the double horn honk should work on the 2016 Edge. At least he confirmed it for my VIN. Now I just need someone or a local dealer willing to apply the change with Ford IDS. Anyone have access to Ford IDS in Ottawa area?

Thanks. But wouldn't this happen every time you start the vehicle. The snap/arc noise is very noticeable only when pushing the start button after a remote start. Guess I'll have to take it in. I'm having an issue where my rear hatch immediately close after it opens anyway, no matter how I open it.
Yes it does happen on every start for me however the lock engaging is much more noticeable with remote start since the engine is already running when the lock engages. With regular start the engine cranking, HVAC coming on, radio turning on, etc... makes the lock engaging less noticeable.
If you can get the liftgate to stay open (pushing the button should stop it from going down further), I suggest going through the height adjustment procedure since it may correct the issue you're experiencing.

Have not noticed any of those issues but I do notice something odd with remote start. After I get in the car after a remote start and press the Start button, there is a pretty significant snap/electrical arc noise. I'm sure there's a lot of juice running through the car on a very cold day but that seemed a little odd to me. Has anyone else noticed this?
This is due to the lock engaging on the adaptive steering system. It is normal. There is more info in the owners manual:

Why would you guys install 20"? doesn't it make your car more noisy and firm?
Aesthetics and performance. Noise from wheels is generally more from the tires due to road noise so a decent set of tires makes a big difference for noise. I find the DM-V2 to be very quiet compared to other winter tires. Larger wheels and tires are generally more expensive and tend to ride more harsh (depending on air pressure) but it's worth it IMO... after all, I did buy the Sport :D.

Check out the Touren TR60. I've got the gunmetal ones as my winter wheels. IMHO they look good on the Edge and I believe they're available in black. So update, the dealer offer me $2700 if I kept the 20" alloys rather and him buying new alloys and tires. BUT, I hate the standard alloys, and want some black ones. The plan is to buy some aftermarket 20" alloys and just take the tires off the new rims then keep the OEM rims in the garage for when I return the car. My question is, has anyone had any experiences with aftermarket alloys that they want to share, I saw some 20s for $175 a wheel, thoughts...?

Hub centric rings are not required! Hubcentric wheels don't support load through the hub, all it does is help to better center the wheel to reduce the chance of vibrations. But tightening the lugs by hand in a star pattern is just as good.
Updated to recommended .

20" x 8.5", 40 mm offset, 72.62 mm hub boreIf you don't mind my asking, what width / offset / hub bore on the wheels? I'm thinking about getting a set for the new 2016 I just ordered?
Thanks!
Anton
Hub centric rings are recommended and I believe the oem lug nuts are a tight fit with the center caps. I went with open ended lugs.

I looked into that--- I did not get the cold weather package, but wanted to upgrade the floor mats. I spent about $200 for the ford all weather mats and the cargo liner... checked weathertech's site, and they didn't have any of the mats available for the 2016 edge. (In hindsight, I'm assuming I could have just gotten the 2015 versions and they'd fit too, right?)
I've never seen weathertechs in real life usage, are they really that much better than ford's versions? Curious if I should return the ford ones (they are ordering them from factory as I already took delivery of the car) and go with weathertech?
Yes you should return the Ford 'all weather' mats. Yes the 2015 mats fit the 2016 Edge fine. The Weathertech or Husky Liners are much better. You will likely be disappointed with the Ford ones.

Sport 401a from the looks of it (front parking sensors = 401 package, black grill = sport)
Correct!

Do you have the original image or the zip file of originals posted by xK317Hx. The Dropbox zip file URL no longer works.

I bought the Sport for the extra power and love it every moment I'm on the road. If a bit of extra $ isn't a big deal, go for the Sport and you will not regret it.

Genius lithium battery booster, Schrade telescoping folding shovel, first aid kit, winter toque and gloves, mechanics gloves, duct tape, parachute rope, Gorilla telescoping wrench, bags, rags, reflective heat blanket and a fleece blanket. On another note, what are people storing in these storage things under the spare tire cover?
I keep a few tie downs, some detailing spray, and a clean microfiber cloth.

You can see in the pic below. I think by design the green/orange plastic fittings should stay inside the foam piece. The orange stayed fine. So I had to put the green pieces back in the foam first to clip them back down.
Confirmed it's the same on my Edge. One clip at the back had popped off the post and the foam clip was riding on top of the metal post. I repositioned the foam, jammed the clip onto the metal post and now the spare tire cover fits much better. Thanks for the help!
-
Correct. When I pulled them out one time, they had to be popped off. Then popped back in.
Where are the clips (near front, back or both)? I am pretty sure my 2016 doesn't have clips. Will confirm tonight.
