This is my conversation with Sync rep. regarding 2.8 update.

Brian: At this time the 2.8 update is not available as website update. From my understanding the 2.7 is update that required a dealership install.

Brian: The 2.8 update should be available in Early May 2011.

Brian: You may receive a letter from Ford Motor Co. in regards this update.

My calender and other similar issues are well documented with Ford, because they have responded to me via email and call.

Well, I got the invoice pricing for my Limited, it was $34xxx. But that was the 2nd car in few months I bought from the dealer.

So did 2.7 fix all of your 'minor' MFT issues? Just curious. I am going to get 2.7 today for a 'minor' issue (clock).

Like I mentioned in the other thread, after the update I had issue with Audio and BT, but I think sync was tresetting itself in the background and after few days it seems to be working better. As far as Clock/ Calender issue it will correct. Dealer also mentioned that they have seen some different issues after 2.7 update.

Well resolved the calender/ time issue but have Audio issue now.

When I turn the Audio on, it turns on but no sound nothing, small screen in dash says "Audio off". Turn it ON & OFF nothing. But if I go in the audio screen and select a different medium for example, if AM/FM was playing select Sirrius, everything goes back to normal.

SYNC commands are performing OK

Got the update done at the dealer, fixed the calender/ time issue and everything seems to be working the way it should be.

No new model fo atleast till 2014

Does anybody have any information on this Service Bulletin? The calendar is the major problem I have with mine.

I just stopped by the dealer and he said that the bulletin they got about Version 2.7 addresses the calender issue, I am taking mine there Monday to get the update done.

Well seat does vibrate but I had noise at times and that culprit was seat belt, when I buckled the seat belt (no passenger in seat), the rattling noise went away.

4 X 8 trailer with a Sportbike sould be fine.

Oh definitely yes. The rocking sensation you feel is deemed normal for Fords.

My 2011 Taurus doesn't have this issue, seatback stays steady.

On 2011 Edge you've to slam th ehood to shut it down.

I compared Edge to Infiniti EX/ FX35 and Audi Q5

I cmplained about the seat back vibration and then the service guy and me checked all Edge's in their lot and they all had similar issue....looks like it is from factory.

Every two weeks or so my phone (Droid X) seems to lose its connection. It says "Connect A Phone", but when I go to the screen it shows it as connected. I try to disconnect, delete, etc. Its very frustrating to have to go through quite a number of steps to delete the phone (unpair the sync on my phone, turn off bluetooth on phone, turn off car, open door, etc... you get the picture!). The phone should not lose its connection every two weeks! Anyone else have this problem?

 

I had the APIM replaced about a month ago and I see absolutely no difference. Its clunky and unreliable. Funny, I have not had any system reboot since I got the new APIM. I am almost wishing for one. I refuse to go in the fuse box.

 

Another thing I found recently - my Droid X can receive text messages in my husband's recently purchased, used, 2010 Ford Fusion. But my state of the art, 2011 Ford Edge with my touch cannot. When I asked my dealer, they said the problem was my phone!

When you rphone disconnects, check the time and date, it should be off too. I've same issue where sync will Reset tiem and dat ean ddisconnect the phone. But on next start it will reconnect itself.

I've 2011 Edge FWD limited, no issues mechanically, but do have issues with MyFordTouch, it resets itself when it feels like and they do not have a solution for it. As far as engine ticking all new vehicles with VVTI make that noise when its little cooler outside and it is only till it warms up, nothing to worry about.

First time to update the Sync, you should have gone under the Apps and install updates. I suggest you take it to the dealer and have them take a look at it instead of you trying to mess with it.

Is sirius travel link only available with Navigation OR is it on all My Ford Touch Systems?

Only issue is 1st time it took a while for it to start playing the music via Ipod

Also got an email from sync that they know about the issue and are working on it. Keep checking with the dealer to see when the update comes out.

But strange thing was after TSB update, I had navigation screens on the sync (I don't have a NAV) and this morning they are gone.

I still have issues with My Ford Touch, where it rests itself and sync suggested a TSB which dealer performed but calender is still off. Sync and dealer said they are working on it.

I do not use Iphone for music but no issues with Ipod.

Voice recognition 90% is ok.....and I've an accent, so may be my accent.

Dealer just called and said that the update was done but it didn't fix it. They contacted sync and they are aware of this issue and are working on update, the update will be released once they figure out how to resolve it.

OR you need the update per TSB 10-24-9
