Anybody??

The same thing is happening with my wife's 2008. The drivers door won't unlock with the key fob or the actual key in the lock. We can open it from the inside with no problems by going through the passenger door. It won't go up and down for a couple of seconds like the original posters will though. I can see the lock move up like it is going to unlock but seems to stop early if that makes sense. I tried to manually unlock the door from the outside and I can't get it to move a bit. Do you think it might be the actuator? If so, how hard is it to remove the door panel and spray some wd40 on it? Waiting for warmer weather is no use as the northern IL weather isn't going to warm up any time soon as it's been in the negatives all week. I don't know if it is cold weather related as it did the same thing in early fall too. Thanks for the help!

My wife and I are looking to upgrade our 2008 Edge SEL awd to a newer model. We just started looking and don't have a specific year in mind but probably in the 2011-2013 range. What are the major issues to be on the lookout for? I know our model had the ptu seal issues and am wanting to know what to look for on the newer models as I haven't kept up to date on the newer models. Thanks for all the help!

I'm looking to get a set of winter tires for my wife's edge. I found a set online but they do not have the tire pressure sensors. Could I use them on my wife's edge that has the tpms?

On my wife's 2008 Edge the check engine, abs, and the stability control lights are all on. The last time this happened I had it scanned and it was an abs wheel speed sensor. I had the sensor replaced. This time I scanned it with my scanner and it shows no DTC's. I had autozone scan it and also it showed no DTC's. Am I going to have to take it to a dealer to get it checked out? Has anybody else had experience with this? Thanks

Looking for some winter tires and rims for my wifes 08 SEL AWD. What is the bolt pattern? Is there anybody that has found any other rims that will work?

Has anybody used the new Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice WRT? Curious of what people think? What would a good set of winter tires/rims for my wife's 08 Edge SEL AWD with optional 18 inch rims? Do I have to only look for 18's or will 17's since the 18 inch wheel is an option? Another question, I know if I get new rims I will have to get new TPMS for the new rims/tires. I should say that I did have the driver's side front wheel speed abs sensor replaced about a month ago. Just a couple of days ago it did the exact same thing. Would this be the passenger side acting up or ????

Thanks for the video goodtimes. If I had only known it was that easy. I might get to do it again as the lights came on again last night when my wife was coming home from work. What are the chances it it the passenger side? I haven't had it scanned yet. Hopefully it is just an abs sensor and not something bigger :angry:

The other day while driving my wifes 07 Edge AWD down the highway, the wrench light came one, then the abs and traction control lights came on. All the light periodically come on and off. I took it in to get scanned and was told it was a front drivers side wheel speed sensor. Is a wheel speed sensor the same thing as a abs sensor? We bought the edge used and the dealer warranty is over, but is still under the powertrain warranty from Ford for 5 yrs/60000 miles. It currently has 49000 miles on it. Would a sensor like this be covered under the powertrain warranty? What kind of bill am I looking at the replace if it isn't covered under warranty? Is it something I can do myself or is it better to take it in to be done? Thank you and look forward to anybody's input.

The smell didn't make me nauseous, but I'm a nurse so no smell would. I'll have to look at the cabin filter and see. I don't think it was a musty smell. If I had to guess, it would be the dreaded PTU seals.....only because it was after we were driving for a little bit and stopped at a stop sign and then nothing once we were moving again. Would I be able to see a leak if I looked under the car? Can I see the seals or no?

Hey guys, my wife and I just picked up our 08 AWD SEL last night. We were driving around town for about 10-15 minutes. When we stopped at a stop sign we all of a sudden had this weird smell come through the defrost/heater. We didn't smell it previously when we were driving, just when we stopped at the stop sign. Is this the dreaded PTU leaking problem? The dealer sold it with a 3 month/3,000 mile powertrain warranty and it has the remainder of the 60,000 powertrain warranty from ford as well. What should I do? Do I just take it to the dealer that sold it and ask them to check the PTU seals? thanks alot guys
