  1. Its a holiday Friday and thought it would be a good day to do the RS HID install. Everything is mounted, and now the wiring begins. Does anyone have a clear way to identify what side is positive/negative on the '07 OM Edge headlight harness? I'm at the point of plugging in the adapter connection from the 'Edge Specific Harness' to the OM Ford Harness. The original halogen H11 bulb is keyed and only plugs in one way. The RS adapter will go either way into the OM harness. I don't want to take the chance of getting this backwards and frying something. I don't have a meter handy... Is there an easier way? I don't see an identifible markings like some have mentioned on the MKX having an 'A' and 'B'.
  2. Does anyone have any idea how to remove the silver radio/climate control surrounding silver bezel on a 2007 Edge? I read in another posting its a simple as wedging your fingers underneath it and pulling (where yellow arrows are in attached pic). It seems to be on there pretty tight and I'm nervous about bending it if I apply too much pressure. I have this annoying vibration/rattle coming from what sounds like the stereo and want to verify if something is loose under there.
  3. I'm chiming in as I had the same issue/symptoms on my 2007 Edge about a month ago (57,000km). When driving the car highway or on the move everything was fine. But I noticed when city driving (especially in stop and go traffic) this burning smell would come into the cabin. I googled the symptoms and sure enough I received a ton of returns on this 'PTU leak issue'. I booked my car into my local mechanic and sure enough he confirmed the PTU was leaking. Although not leaking enough to leave any evidence of fluid on the driveway. Basically the fluid drips directly onto your exhaust, burns, and voila smell filters into the cabin. My mechanic didn't charge anything to get it up on the hoist and look at it. He recommended I take it back to Ford and see if they would cover it under power train warranty. The same day I dropped the car off at Weiland Ford in Kitchener, ON. Once the issue was confirmed by the ford tech the repair was covered 100% under the power train warranty. Its been a month and no sign of further issues - although I have read on other forums this issue is known to re-occur in some cases. I'm hoping I don't have this stroke of luck. Hope that helps. ..Liam
  4. Hi there, This is directed at anyone who has done the Retro Solution HID kit upgrade. I read somewhere on here an alteration is needed to the headlight dust covers? Can anyone verify/confirm this? Just want to know what I'm getting into be before placing the order. I have a 2007 Edge if that helps.
