  1. Thanks guys,, I did have the front end aligned prior to putting on new tires. ..I also rotate every 4000 miles.. I'll have them crossed this time and see what happens.. Jerry in Minnesota.
  2. I have a 2011 edge sport with the 22 in wheels. I bought a new set of Pirrellis at 30,000 miles because they were howling, Ford service said the were "cupped) Now at 11,000 miles those tires are howling.. Anyone else have this problem? Jerry in Minnesota.

    Howling noise.

Well I took the Edge in yesterday and had a tech ride with me,,they checked the veh for for any loose bearings or suspension problems and there were none..I was told the tires are the problem they are cupped/chopped on the inside causing the howl on all four tires.. He recommended driving until the tires get more worn then replace and have a 4 wheel alignment done.. So it appears that the alignment was off from new causing the tires to wear on the inside ... Howling noise.

I have 29k on it. I will have the tires checked and rotated next oil change and have a tech ride with me in the veh to point out the noise....... Jerry in Minnesota.....

    Howling noise.

I have s 2011 sport and still have the original Pirelli tires.. I have noticed a howling sound when driving on a smooth blacktop road,,I don't think I have heard this since new..I do rotate the tires every other oil change..I'm not sure this noise if from the tires or possibly the rear end..I will have it checked but just wondering if anyone else has the same problem.?? Jerry in Minnesota.
  6. I bought them at MGP and believe it or not I do not own a digital camera.. Before I bought them I did see a fellow member with the same veh post a pic with them on and I will try to include it with this post. I don't know if you can customize the name on the covers ,, mine just have MGP on them. Jerry in Minnesota
  7. I Got the MGP red caliper covers last fall and had a shop install them on my tuxedo black sport. I paid 200 dollars for them. With the 2011 sport wheels they did not have to take the wheels off, they were able to reach through the big gaps in the wheels to attach them. They are installed with clips that are tightened.. Have not had any problems with them and they help with keeping the brake dust down. Like someone else said they are made from aircraft aluminum and powder coated with the color.. Jerry in Minnesota...
  8. You can get them at webxtremes.com Jerry in Minnesota.
  9. I'm still looking to tweak my exhaust,, the new Mustang with the same V6 sounds good,, wondering why you could not have simiier system on the Edge Sport.. There is a sound clip of the DeltaFlow 40 that sounds real good,, look for it on youtube. Jerry in Minnesota.
  10. I did a search to find who put a new exhaust on their edge and how they like it but came up with nothing...I heard two that sound pretty good on youtube , the Delta Flow 40 and the Magnaflow.. Anyone have any experience with either or something else.. I'm looking for something that sounds tough but not overwhelming. I have a 2011 edge sport black.. Jerry in Minnesota
  11. Its hard when you can't see them on the veh,, I guess I would go with the Vodoo.. Jerry in Minnesota.
  12. If you put a good gouge in the rim better check your tire above it because that also may be damaged .. The tire on the 22 rims hangs over the rim so it can get damaged too.. I just bought a new Sport and luckily for me I noticed both rims on the driver side had curb rash on them and both tires were also damaged.. The dealer is getting me two new rims and tires. Jerry in Minnesota.
  13. Before buying the edge I did an exhaustive research on the GM crossovers including the SRX, the new Jeep and new Durango and all of them fell way short on the fuel ratings so Ford also joined the club. Also on most of these the six cylinder engine got panned for being under powered even the Jeep Hemi did not get good review because of the weight of the vehicle.. Most of these xovers just weigh too much, but the public wants a solid quiet ride and this adds to the weight. Jerry in Minnesota.
  14. I'm just about deaf so the squeaks and whines don't affect me and one more good thing is I can't hear the wife bumping her gums about the way I drive.. As far as being picky, I think you have a right because the manufacturer put this voice activated crap in the veh so it should work.. Like I said in another post the voice activation did not work well in either Cadillac I've owned. Do this, go on the Porsche Cayenne or Range Rover forum and you will see that these 100,000 vehs have the same problems and people are complaining about them.. Jerry in Minnesota.
  15. Great looking veh,,enjoy.. Jerry in Minnesota.
