  1. About 2600 miles on FWD Edge SEL. Last fill up at 20.2 gallons ( yes you read that right ), 429.5 miles travelled for an average of 21.26 with a computer reading of 21.7 mpg, 80 % hwy with A/C on. The computer also said 13 miles to empty and I topped off like I normally do. A believer now for sure.

:yup: ....Impressive on a new car.....After some miles on there it has only got to get better.....I got 27K on mine and it seems to come back to 23.6 on the computer...No matter what I do....I thought the thing was broke for awhile...Maybe it is right...Who knew.. .....Sr..

  2. :reading: ...Good_Hands....I was about to jump...BUT...I see somebody beat me to the question...looks like...Yep...I'm thinking the same thing..after I saw the gallery on the '08 Limited, that was posted....That handle hole is ...UGG!....IF...the door is automatic...WHY... a handle at all??....IF...The botton don't open it...I'm thinking pulling on that ain't doing nothing....

TO: Responding '08 owner....IS...There a little button under the lip of that handle hole...to activate the power sequence??...IN...which case that may provide some merit....BUT...seems redundant.... ....Down South ..we do..things 3X the "hard way" just to keep the "doo-pid goin' "................Happy :shift: ................Sr.......

    Edit: I see the answer..there is a button.....Thanks.............Sr...

  3. :reading: .....IF....Nitrogen makes them cooler....THEN....Wouldn't Helium make them lighter....OR....Would they just make higher pitch noises??....I'm chemically challenged here....BUT....It sounds like a gas........Happy....... :shift: ..........Sr...

:reading: .....I was hoping to help..All I found is this "Homelink Express"...BUT...It appears to be about "Fast Food--Home Delivery".......The only other .."Homelink".. I heard about...IS..when you put three single wide trailers, park them in a ..U ..shape..then put a connecting porch in the front of all three....For..Momma...Cousin Forrest...and ol' Boobly Boo....That's..Alabama Homelink.... Sorry I couldn't help no more than that....Happy...... :shift: ........Sr..

  5. :reading: ...Ok ...You woke me up....You want to talk about gas mileage....First IF we are talking AWD...all bets are off...Go no further in the post....I have FWD....My last 3 cars were FWD....Item: I have found the "real world" and that gas computer in the car can be like they say " a world apart"....Experience of mine:..I got 27K miles on my Edge....I drive about 75 miles "one-way" 3X a week to work....IF I go someplace else...More miles..Yep...I live so far from town...the birds have got to pack a lunch to make it to the highway....In all these various conditions I see 23.6 on the car computer...most the time..I hardly ever reset it....I did on a little trip and it says 26.2...another time I did not and it went to 25.0 and stayed there for days....No matter where I went....I think this computer item just records big events and calculates on that...To Note This: Since I live way out...Yes!...More ways than one...I "can it" most the time....Being I have a bunch of 5 gallon cans at my place and I top off from there....I've noted that often the car doesn't even noticed I put in 4 gallons of gas and often doesn't "compute"......I find it takes maybe near 6+ gallons to activate.....My thought:.. the computer doesn't mean much...You want real figures you got to compute by hand....BUT be sure your odometer is close ..first....My pet theory: The tire size variable...Ford got their CAFE numbers based on what?...they offer 2 different tires in 07..now 3X for 08....Guys aftermarket them to any number of combinations.....You see my point...OR ..is it all babble??...So many variables...speed, conditions, driver/car.....Summation:...I got this car...It works good for me....I've had one two bit fix....I"m NOT at this point pulling the trigger over....Gas mileage....OR...Since I really don't know what ..IT really is....Ignorance is Bliss.....Momma says...it's why I'm so ...................Happy.... :shift: .............Sr....
  6. Thanks for the compliment. They are basiclly for looks, but do aid in the release of heat from the engine compartment.

I own an automotive aftermarket company in NY that designed and install these for local dealers. If you are interested check out my website( aslauto.com)

:reading: ...I'm guessing here, but since 90+%..of us..don't live in/or near NY...I'm a bit stumped here...How is that going to be of any interest how many local dealers you service??... Do you sell these things??...In which case....I'm reminded of my TV...saying..."Don't try this at Home".........Happy.......... :shift: ............Sr..

  7. :reading: .....Ladies and Gentlemen......I am glad you you liked the item from e-bay...It was sent to me by a fellow forum member...He knew that I would appreciate it..... :yup: ......This was intended to entertain the "urban assault vehicle" crowd.....Like they say on TV..."Don't try this at Home"......There IS step bumpers available and many more...."people pleasing parts" on that site.......Now.. IF.. You are into the U.A.V. look.....Then by all means....THIS item is where your EDGE can make the scene.........Enjoy............. :shift: ............Sr.......

    Up-Date: 16:00 Today...

Just got back from Motor Vehicles Office....Had to take another test...Got a new picture...Really goes with my "Banana-color" Edge

  9. tspad:.... :reading: .....So are you going to distribute this product?? ... worked out a Sales Site?? ... Price structure/ shipping options?? ... From the picture, it looks like I'm seeing the back of a "white" EDGE ...perhaps a 2008....with no license plate frame??... From a photo shoot?? ... Excuse me...IF...I sound a little skeptical.... :shades: ..Just lookin' out for my k-noggin.........Sr...

  10. wbwell3: "It's a huge improvement over the 3 bars."

Well...THAT's a matter of opinion. I still think it's way too busy

Busy... :yup: .......Way too much chrome.....the middle and bottom pieces just seem too much......The top section has potential ....IF ...it were a little more spaced out between the bars......and I'm liking that the monster blue oval is gone...BUT...with the bugs in the South...A guy would be 3 days a week scrubbing that .....Happy.... :shift: ....Sr..

  11. :yup: ....Normal...Yep..I'd say so..it's "hunting"...not enough for 6th and too much for 5th...The rolling hills really will do it...Hope that helps with your question...About the car....Welcome to the group and I'm guessing you'll be liking that EDGE...I got mine February 07 and it is rolling right at 27K...I go pretty long and pretty far...mostly chasing my tail..... .........I use the cruise quite a bit cause I get a little foot heavy and I've found my edge has a "sweet spot" right at 82 mph...most the state troopers let "some sliding room"....but 82.. :redcard: .. don't get it.........Happy...... :shift: ........Sr...

  12. Ok guys... I got a base line Edge from my local dealer and I want leather. I was told by the dealer that they can send it out to a shop in my area to have aftermarket leather installed, called Katzkin. The company I talked to, Pro-Motion tuning offers the kit for around $600 + install. I checked out their website and the stuff seems to be popular considering dealers are using it, what you think?

here is a link... Ford Edge Katzkin Info

    Bobby

:yup: ...Yep...I have seen this product....In an EDGE...It was the two-tone in camel with a darker inset panel on butt and back...The Edge was Sage and I'm saying it did look real good....What the guy paid...is ???...........Happy....... :shift: ...........Sr.

  13. I found a great product for the Edge and MKX rear bumper. This item is called a Bumper Saver. It is made of a black rubberized compound, looks like the bumper pad found on a Explorer, is easy to install and only cost me $29.95. This item is so nice that I am considering distributing the item. If anyone is interested shoot me an email and I will forward a photo.

:yup: ... Yep...I'd like to see the item.....Can you post a picture here?....Distributor?...Web-site?.........Happy.... :shift: ....Sr...

  14. But you see....I already know the numbers are reversed so I won't make the 18/81 mistake.

I thought about suing Ford. I thought about the BBB. After my wife went down and set them straight, I did feel a bit better about it.

My car's thermometer is WAY off and this is an open forum as you stated and if I want to feel angry, then I don't see anything wrong with it!!!! It is America and it is the country of whistelblowers and I think if I feel something might be a scam or I am angry, I can say so WITHOUT apologies. I have not seen others claim to have this same problem as with mine, I think something is really wrong...but this seals the deal for me...I thought about signing OFF of this message board and going to the other one were people aren't so JUDGEMENTAL of other people's issues with their new car. What good is a message board if I have to tiptoe around about how I really feel?

CORRECT....I'm Mad about this too and I don't even have a thermo-meter....BUT....I Know this is a global warming issue best addressed by Al Gore...A fellow Tennesseean...I think you can bring this up to President Obama on January 09 and get immediate satisfaction....Then too I may be a "cracker nut-case"...I heard that..this morning a breakfast....world problems are settled every Tuesday at the local IHOP..back booth..............Happy. :shift: ...........Sr.
