You need To go under the dash. Taking the access panel off is only good if having someone shine a flashlight through. Basically you need to contort yourself and get on your back to look up under the dash. I hooked up a dash cam power wire so it can be done.
good luck

What year is it? If 15 or newer it’s to left of steering wheel by knee height. It’s almost useless except for shining a flashlight. You will need to go under the dash as the fuse panel is tucked up way inside

Guessing it’s a 2011 or newer. The settings screen to left of speedometer will give you the option to adjust the remote start settings

SYNC3 3.0 is not officially out. There has been no upgrades released for it from Ford. If you choose to install what is floating around be careful. Some of the initial packs did not have the proper NA files.
When I released 2.2 that was from an official update.
Agree. I myself am going to wait to see if it’s updated via WiFi

Old thread, but for those using a fuse tap at the internal fuse panel, I used the lower nut/stud that is holding the fuse panel as a ground. For my Dashcam I used the fuse at the top (37?) since it is very hard to get the fuse tapping connector yo fit anywhere else.
On my 16 I'm pretty sure #37 is on the bottom, left side ( pretty hard to see but it appears that way ) 23 is at the top

I am afraid I never ended up talking to a tech at the dealers. I think if you could get the little cubby drawer out you might be able to get at it. I am afraid of breaking the drawer so I gave up for now.
That cubby drawer even has an electrical lightning symbol ( at least on my 16 )

Someone on Facebook said they were auto updated via wifi in February to 2.2. Anyone else get the update via wifi?

I am perplexed by those people that come on here, and complain about not having the update. I get it that Ford should have released it by now...but you are one of the lucky ones. You found this thread. You can download the install and do it your self. It is not hard, and there are many of us on here that can help you through it, myself included. JUST DO IT! Enjoy it and drive on.
I have the update, this is what I can't understand with Ford. It works fine so what are they waiting for? We are only maybe 1% of people on this thread and the other 99% are still waiting. I know I was promised by my salesman back in April of 2016 I would get CarPlay by summer ( 2016 ). With no mention of any cost

Amazing that Ford hasn't released Apple CarPlay software update.
What are they waiting for?

What is Ford waiting on? Almost mid March and no public release. I haven't heard of a single issue with those that downloaded and installed it.
Only thing I would suggest is a button to exit or enter CarPlay. Right now you need to disconnect the lightning cable from phone

Thanks for updates, sadly the fact that I have to plug in for mobile apps or CarPlay kills this feature for me.
That cubby is in a terrible location when car is in park. I can barely reach my hand into the slot, let alone plug the USB in I have to use the tips of my fingers. I don't see myself using the feature as changing the source to my phone gives me access to all my music.
When this becomes wireless I think it'll be a much bigger deal.
I use a small 6" USB extension to plug my phone in

Yes. Hopefully a future update will resolve this

Talking about Sync 3. Sorry

Solved! I was going to just delete it but I will own up to it. In " Display " mode I was going with the side to side arrows NOT the up and down arrows. All is good, I did a quick read of the owners manual to see what I was doing wrong. 4 Edges and 3 with these 4" screens. By my 5th Edge I'll have it down pat

Not sure if it's Sync or CarPlay related but... Picked up my Edge after having the brake booster and USB hub replaced. I now have an issue with the left of speedo 4" screen. Under display options there was a choice of 3 or 4 different screens with one being an actual rpm gauge plus fuel and temp. That's gone and only have one option, digital speedo with fuel and vertical tach which was in a separate menu. Any ideas why it's gone? There was an AWD option as well to see where power to wheels were going but that is gone as well

The Beta 2 of iOS 10.3 has some updates to CarPlay.
- CarPlay status bar has persistent quick access to media, communication, and travel apps for quick switching without accessing the Home screen
- CarPlay gains quick access to albums from songs in Music, new Up Next screen
As far as app support in CarPlay that is the developers. Now the requirements from Apple are tight, and app devs probably don't see the need to get support because of the relatively low amount of cars with support. A LOT of radio station apps work.
I should be getting the public beta today or tomorrow. Usually a day after the developers get it

A Pillar Trim Removal (2020)
in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim

Just seeing this now. The upper piece cannot be removed without removing the lower 2 pieces?. Just trying to run wire at the base of the upper trim piece where it meets the dash.
2019 Edge
Thanks
