  1. I just noticed the track forward/back does work on the steering wheel controls but not the touch screen controls. Maybe I should update sync again as something may be corrupted.
  2. ^ the track selection used to work on all of the devices. Only the BlackBerry is being used via Bluetooth, the iPod's are connected via USB. I checked my manual again, fuse #3 is for SYNC and fuse #29 is for the instrument cluster. This is a Canadian model 2008 Ford Edge.
  3. Anyone have any luck figuring this out? Apparently both my iPod Nano 2nd gen and iPod nano 4th gen are doing the same thing as well. I can play music but I have no control of the track selection ...pause/play works but I can't use the next or previous buttons. I have performed a master reset and also pulled fuse #3 a few times (left it out for a min or two) with no success.
  4. Hi Everyone, I successfully paired up my BlackBerry Bold 9780 with the SYNC in my 2008 Ford Edge and am able to play music via bluetooth but lately I've been unable to control the track selection from the SYNC interface (I have the NAV system). Any suggestions for getting this working again? I have also disabled autoplay in SYNC but my Blackberry starts auto playing music as soon as the bluetooth connection is present. If I forget to do this the audio player on my BlackBerry plays all day and drains my battery. Anyone else have the same issue and know of any workarounds? Thanks in advance, Jon
  5. I was under the impression that the Edge headlights took the HID's very well with a sharp cut-off. I tried hid's in my old Mazda Protege but it was horrible and had to switch back to halogen. I would gladly purchase projector headlights if someone made them (anyone?). I have stock HID's in my Mazdaspeed3 and the light output and cutoff is amazing. I'm hoping to achieve similar results with the Edge.
  6. I'm going to be doing the same thing as I'm in Canada as well. Would you mind telling me where you put the capacitor and what the size is? thanks, Jon
  7. ^ Thanks! There was a member on here that was banned for giving Retro Solutions a tough time. He claimed the HID kit blew up his SJB but he wasn't following the instructions and may have installed something incorrectly. Does your harness have a capacitor installed to smooth out the pulsed input from the SJB? I think most of the ebay harnesses are the same but I may have to manually add the capacitor.
  8. Hey there! I'm new to the forum and should be picking up our new to us 2008 Ford Edge Limited AWD Canadian model tomorrow afternoon. I've been reading up quite a bit on the forum here but have been having a bit of an issue finding out exactly what is required to try out some HID's without blowing up the SJB. I have two digital slim H11 5000K HID kits to put in the fogs and the low beams but am aware that I need to get a couple relay harnesses and a capacitor. Is someone able to tell me what harness kit and capacitor that can be purchased to work with the kit and the daytime running lights (unless I can get my dealer to kindly disable them)? I have seen a vendor on here that sells HID kits that are designed to work with the Edge but I would prefer to reuse the ones I have. Thanks in advance! I'm hoping the halogen housing will give a good cutoff with the xenons. Jon
