  1. I have the same problem (2 piece driveshaft) and just removed the old one with a 4” grinder, Dremel grinder, chisel and hammer. A little work but really not hard to do. The hard part was separating the shaft. Use DB Blaster and let sit. I used a come along with some love taps and it came apart. I just purchased a new bearing on Amazon and in the process of figuring out which side gets pressed on.
  2. HAZ…. I want to personally thank you for the information you sent; awesome ??
  3. I have the same problem and per the dealer it’s the ignition immobilizer. Now I just need to figure out where this module is located. I know the immobilized is located in the steering column for key start ignition switches but I have a push button start. If you have any idea where this immobilizer is located, that would be awesome. FYI…. I searched the web and the only video I found on the immobilizer replacement is for key start ignition switches, not push button start cars.
  4. Here is my problem… My 2011 Edge is equipped with OEM key FOB with auto start, alarm, hatch control, door lock and unlock. All functions are working fine and FOB battery is new. Since all of these functions are working, I can safely say the remote start antenna module is working with my FOB key. FYI, spare key works the same. FYI…. After starting my car with the remote, I put my foot on the brake and push the start button, still nothing happens. I tried placing the FOB key in center console slot, did nothing also. Relocating the FOB key in various places of the car does not make a difference. The problem lies with communication between the FOB key and the push button start; nothing happens when I push the button on occasion. There are no dash lights and the symptom is like I have a dead battery. Car battery has 12.5 V and the terminals are clean. After several minutes of pushing the start button and fiddling with the FOB key, miraculously, I push the start button one last time and the dash lights come on and the vehicle starts. The only occasional pattern I can see…..I sometimes keep the FOB in my top jacket pocket. When I hold onto the key and or bring it closer to the start button it usually starts. I can honestly say there is no radio interference in the area when this occurs. So, does anyone know how to make the push start button recognize my FOB key ? Is this problem related to the OEM anti theft feature ? Is there a bad module that I am overlooking ?
  5. Repaired…….? There is a 12 pin electrical connector under the driver seat of which only five pins are used. Using a ohm meter I checked continuity on both sides of this connector and found one wire with high resistance. I replaced this connector and all of the pins; airbag light is out.
  6. I replaced my drivers seat track because the inside track got bent (unknown why) creating the seat to rock. I broke a plastic clip to the female side of a electrical connector during seat removal. I replaced this broken piece with a new connector (plug and play wires; no cutting, soldering, etc) to this new clip. I received a Airbag error and removed the seat to recheck all of the connectors….air bag light went out, fixed…WRONG. Airbag light came on a few days later and according to my OBD II and my research, I noted the following: Code: B0020:13 Status: ODDTC Description: Left side airbag deployment control….. failure type circuit open Code: B0020:13-08 Status: CMDT Description: Left side airbag deployment control….. fault is currently present failure, open circuit. When is the B0020 FORD code detected? If the Restraints Control Module (RCM) detects a short between the driver seat side air bag circuits and the circuits of another SRS component, it sets this Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) and the DTC of the corresponding SRS component. B0020 FORD code possible causes Faulty Left Seat Side Airbag Left Seat Side Airbag harness is open or shorted Left Seat Side Airbag circuit poor electrical connection How is the B0020 FORD code repair? Start by checking the "Possible Causes" listed above. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector's pins. I checked the airbag system fuse….was good and took the seat out again for the following: 1. Removed the tape from the seat wires to check for broken, crimped, etc wires…. Nothing found and re-taped. 2. Unplugged all of the electrical connectors and checked the ohms between connectors and checked for bent pins….Nothing found and reassembled 3. Applied dielectric grease to all of the electrical connectors…..Made no difference. Short of (oh I made a joke) taking it back to a dealer any ideas on how to resolve ? I don’t want to start probing random wired because that may be fatal to my health.
  7. When entering my code the doors do not unlock. I replaced the Securicode Pad (is wired to the car) and checked 18 and 20 fuses. No corrosion found on any electrical connection. When I try tried 3, 5, 7 and 9 on the keypad I hear a small click which appears to come from the rear doors; does not unlock. Several months ago I replaced the FOB keys with aftermarket (Ford OEM number stamp is inside) keys. Although I reprogrammed them without any problem, just recently on occasion my car does not recognize the FOB key. I physically need to place the FOB in my hand and the car starts. FYI both FOB have new batteries. I don’t know if the Securicode Pad and the FOB are related somehow. At a loss where to go next.
  8. Here is my experience with the panoramic ‘moon’ roof……I have a 2011 Edge LTD AWD with 160k miles. Has been a good car with some problems with SYNC, power steering pump/return hoses and now the roof. Ever since owning the car the panoramic roof would work slow. I had the dealer check it out on several occasions and they cleaned the track and lubed the rails. Worked for a few months and then the same thing. Decided not to use the moon roof as I though it would be problems in the long run….Oh was I so right. I can count on both hands how many times I opened/closed the roof thru the years of owning the car. About 3 weeks ago I opened the roof and it struggled real hard to close; finally failed without closing with the drive cables hanging out of my headliner. I tried everything but could not close it. Had to take it to the dealer and was floored…..service repair tech gave me options: Time to get a new car…..nope that is not going to happen. Repair the roof…..approx $4k because it can’t be fixed. Told him what about option “C”…..just close the roof and I won’t use it and he responded with, the roof is damaged and cannot be closed. So I decided to have the roof replaced and then the tech told me it would be wise to install both motors as it will take 5 hrs labor to replace them latter plus mine may be on the way out. Quoted me a price of $400 for one motor and $300 for the other. Told him I’ll get the motors because that is excessively high. Picked up both motors for $315. Now all said and done the roof works like a champ. Bottom line, would I ever purchase another Ford with a panoramic roof? Hummm……..I think you know the answer. So my question to everyone, has anyone else experience similar problems with their panoramic roof? I read some buzz (not sure if is true) about recalls but like I said nothing confirmed. FYI….this new install is guaranteed for 2 yrs.

I'm new to this forum.....2011 Edge AWD owner Ok gas prices are starting to level off but I still want to increase MPG. Any ideas? I'm following the basics....keeping tire pressure up, close windows so I do not create drag and operate the AC only when really needed. With all that in mind I still only get 19.8 MPG. So I was thinking of a turbo but I really don't want to go with after market kit since I have not heard anything good with these kits. I also heard of cool air intake but again no substantial increase in MPG. I have not tried high octane yet to see if that makes a difference. How about something as simple as a bug deflector to keep air flowing? Something that gets my curiosity is the region we live in and MPG. For instance, if you live in Alaska where there is colder air opposed to Florida where it is usually humid.....do you get better MPG in Alaska? If memory serves me right cooler air will increase MPG. Since we are all Ford Edge owners I figured this would be a great start to see what everyone else is doing to increase MPG.
