Alright, well here is my findings. Apparently the dealership was all out of the door clips that were required to fix the interior door panel so they had to order new ones. This took them a very long time, but they finally got my vehicle in and fixed it. The door panel doesn't wiggle anymore, and it feels great when i lean on it during long highway rides. The noise, however, is still present coming off of the driver side mirror. After talking to my salesman he mentioned that ford does extensive aerodynamic testing to prevent noises like that (so he was shocked). i took those words into consideration and finally i have determined that the noise is coming from where the mirror attaches to the door itself, so there is something in there.. i must say though, that ever since the door clips on the interior door panel were replaced, the noise has been more tolerable and somewhat quieter (but is still there). it doesn't really bother me anymore, and i love this vehicle too much so i am completely able to overlook it. perhaps at some other point i will be able to take it in to the shop prior to 36,000 miles and get it fixed. supposedly there was a TSB out for this thing, but apparently not according to the service department. they look and couldnt find one. google searching TSB's for a 2011 Ford Edge produces no results, and most sites state there are no TSB's out yet. Interesting. I'm sure a lot of these issues will be resolved in the next year or so. So to recap:
Door panel clips replaced = less noise off the driver side mirror, but it is still there nonetheless.
No TSBs for the Ford Edge 2011 that I can find (or the dealer for that matter)
I hope this helps some of you, but I doubt it.. this wasn't the news any of us were looking for, but im sure it'll be addressed in the next year.. i hope...
